2640 is the color-code for camel on the BV website :tup:

First of all, it appears authentic. The metal really looks used, so if I were bidding on it, I wouldn't go much above what the current price is. The good thing about this bag is the leather--the deerskin is sturdy yet soft and supple. I love green bags; currently only have one green BV (in this leather, but a different style) and I've used it a lot. I like how seller includes pictures from every possible angle.

mistikat noticed that the name was stamped in gold inside the wallet--right there it's fake; BV just stamps into the leather with no added color. Also the box is fake--incorrect font, incorrect placement on the box and "Made in Italy" isn't stamped on BV boxes. The dustbag looks fake also. My wallets have either come with a drawstring dustbag (currently a tan color) or with just a soft cloth around the wallet inside the box. I'm sure if we could feel the leather we would notice it's not the high quality leather BV uses. Some are harder to tell than others. This one is a pretty bad fake.

I think it's probably authentic. Seller's other listings all show the metal nameplate from the inside, so I would want to see it from this bag as well. This vintage of bag won't have an authenticity tag inside with numbers. The older bags don't have that.

A couple of other things--in my opinion her starting bid is too high for an older bag that has been used. Maybe that's why it didn't sell before. Also, her feedback is private so a buyer can't look at the items previously sold--I hate that. Her feedback % is kind of low--below 99% makes me look carefully at a seller.

It's a nice-looking bag from the pics, but there needs to be a pic of the nameplate and a lower price would make it very attractive! But that's just my viewpoint. Hopefully others will comment too.

Thanks boxermom! I have asked for a photo of the metal nameplate. I will post it if she sends it.

I know what you mean about the private feedback - I hate it to, you can't see what she has sold :(
