IMPORTANT READ-ME

Please see post #1 for complete Balenciaga authentication rules. All requests must be posted in this thread. Authentications are not done via private message or in any other thread.

See the link below for examples of the photos needed and the format they should be in (clear, close up, forward-facing, no angles, right way up, no bends in tags).

A link to the listing in question is required.

It is an authenticator’s right to ignore a request that is not in the proper format. If the listing you are interested in is missing photos it is your responsibility to request them from the seller prior to posting in this thread.

Thanks and be well!

Hi! I'm not sure if this is the right thread to post Balenciaga accessories such as this cap below, pls let me know otherwise, thank you!

Item Name: Balenciaga Logo Baseball Cap Hat khaki Adjustable Size M
Item Number: 145002988478
Seller: haroe3065
Link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/145002988478
I'm not sure if any other authenticators know about accessories, but I'm inclined to say non-authentic solely based on the fact the tag says "made in China." If you check authorized retailers (Nordstrom, Bergdorf's, etc.) their sites say it's made in Italy.

I was perusing this thread, and others in the subforum, and I have a question about the notches in the rivets. I know that there were some earlier bags up untill 2005 with simple round rivets, but when the rivets are notched, are the notches always in that elongated dome shape? Like in the picture attached on the left? And never square-shaped and/or short, like in the picture on the right? TIA!

They may vary slightly from the pic on the left but the one on the right is a typical fake. Also, some S/S 05 bags could have smooth rivets as well. It was a transition season.

Thanks, muchstuff! The reason I asked is the picture in this post: https://forum.purseblog.com/threads...ies-please-show.1059384/page-14#post-35586927 from yesterday. It got me confused as the notches appear to be sort-of correct on one side and completely incorrect on the other, when I enlarge the picture.

@IntheOcean As long as I remember we’ve seen cases here many years ago where the rivet had one single elongated notch and also one case which it only had one squared notch and both bags turned to be authentic!. Those were supposed to be production defect.
In December of '07, I bought three GH Works from the Bal store in NY in the same day (b-day gift). Two of them had one wonky rivet, and not even wonky in the same way, and one also had a wonky GH. Some manufacturing anomalies, especially of mass-produced industry items like small metal or plastic parts, are to be expected. They're caused by factory hiccups and human error.

Like check this out. I have zero doubt about the authenticity of this large shoulder. It checks out in every detail, including ones so subtle that a faker would not even be aware of it, for a bag this old. But look at the metal plate. I'm one of those wierdoes who actually likes anomalies like this. Makes it more "collectable" to me. The incomplete metal plate is apparently a common feature of the large shoulder, thought it’s an anomaly next to other Bal bags FD55C80B-CE65-4E22-A4F8-5567B9570398.jpeg
