Hi TE,

I'm wondering if the older crunch leather and newer lux leather
is exactly the same leather (just w/ a new name?) Or are they
very slightly different leathers? If so, what exactly are the
main differences between the crunch and lux?

I read somewhere that the lux leather doesn't distress as
much- is that true? Also- how do you care for the lux leather?
Just lexol it?

Thanks so much!!

Lux is the new, improved version of the leather formerly known as crunch. The color stays truer longer and its softer from the start. Pre-fall 2009 was the least season that crunch was made.

Care for Lux- spray when new and lexol as needed.

You dont have to spray it- that's totally optional. You can just let the leather age naturally as I do. (Ive never sprayed any of my crunch or lux bags.)

But, as with pretty much any leather bag, if you want to keep the leather looking new for as long as possible, spray the leather when its new. I think the girls here mostly use apple, penguin, coach or wilson's water and stain repellent spray, but I always advise people to spray in a small unseen area and wait 24 hours to check the results before you spray your entire new bag.

Hi TE!

I have just purchased my first Tano, Art House in Dark Chocolate. I have learned through searching on here that the Art House is Enzo leather. What does that really mean, and how do I treat it?

Many thanks!

Hi there- yea! a newbie- welcome!

Enzo was a leather from last Fall (09) with a subtle grain and shine. Its a sturdy leather that will soften with use.

I dont have an enzo bag myself, so I cant recommend how to treat it from experience, but the usual "spray when new if you want it to stay looking that way and condition as needed when the leather is dry" regimen is always good advice. Any quality leather conditioner should be safe (lexol, wilsons, coach, apple, penguin, etc) but its ALWAYS wise to test in a small unseen area and wait 24 hours before applying to the whole bag.

Some of the girls here have enzo bags (Kings 20 comes to mind...) you might want to PM them for advice.

Enjoy your new bag!

TE

I have a black enzo Art House. I love it! I don't treat my bags (other than Lubriderm on some of my Crunch/Lux bags), so I can't help there. It seems to wear really well, and I'm not really sure it is a leather that needs treating.

Thank you both for your responses!

I have been looking for a brown leather hobo for a long time now, one that I wont have to baby. Seems like I made the right choice :D

Is Storm Cloud and Smog the same color? I am looking for the Vying Eyes and some sites have the bag in smog, and another site describes it as storm cloud. Same or no?

Thanks!

Smog is a grey color in the tumbleweed palette this Fall. Storm cloud is a similar grey color in the loose weave palette. Vying eyes is made of tumbleweed, so SMOG is the correct color name for the grey.

Its just that some stores/sites dont know the differences between the leathers and get confused....
