I agree with LVCRAZED!:p
I think you're a TRUE USER if and only if you have ONE essential LV bag. However, when you start to have more than 3, it's like...do you really NEED all of them?!?! I would say, logically, NO.:hrmm: So if you have more than one masterpiece bag, then you're a "collective user"! Thus I am a collective user too! YAY lol
Also, buying solely from the LV store is the only way to go for me too. Besides knowing that you're the first owner of the bag and that it's truly authentic, you can also snoop around and feast yer eyes on all the other lovelies in the store! Just looking at them makes me *drool* lol!
Finally, I seem to use LV bags based on that day's purpose: I have a "going out" LV bag, then there's the "school" one, the "site-seeing/adventure" one, and "party" one. But if the day's crappy, eg raining, I tend to take out my "substitude" bags such as Dior, Moschino, and Prada ones... I'm so weird...lol:shocked:

LOL!!!!!!!!!! Heehee!! Hiya fellow "collective user!":graucho: Yep, there's nothing like purchasing a new LV...and like you say "feasting your eyes on all the other lovelies". Awwwwwwwww!Even when I'm walking out with my purchase my head and eyes are stRRRRRRetching to make sure I see everything as I make my way to the exit. ...gotta be careful though when you do this cuz you could end up with "LV whiplash". OUCH!:yucky:

User! My mom is as well. We've never even taken anything back except once when I traded a belt in I got as a gift for a different size and my dad's Abessess messenger since it ended up being too small for him. Otherwise, all the bags/jewelry/accessories/shoes we've bought definitely end up getting used!

Fun thread! I've enjoyed reading the responses!

I'm definitely a USER. I probably have about a dozen bags that I rotate with and usually end up using one or two of them most often. I use my LV Pop Haut most of the time and if it is bad rainy weather then I use a Coach small tote. If I'm really dressed down then I carry a Fossil tote bag.

I like to use various colors, too, and just bought a navy Marc by MJ bag that should arrive tomorrow!

Last night, I wanted to go see the 6:30 movie (DaVinci Code) and didn't have time to change bags, so I took my LV. I was in my old Yale t-shirt, worn out shorts and cheap flip-flops and these two teenaged girls carrying "LV inspired" bags looked at me like I was scum and I overheard one of them say (loud enough for me to hear) "it's an obvious FAKE Louie..." ROTFLOL!!!

Then I just had to laugh to myself because the mother of one of them said to the girls "That's Carol XXXXXXX -- oh, girls, that bag is REAL!"

Lol..I love how people with fakes think they can point out other fakes when in reality, those are usually the authentics.
Well if you only know how fakes look then obviously you won't be able point out a real one.
Haha.

I'm a user, expect for my small vernis framboise pieces which I am a bit reluctant to use due to all the comments about colour transfer, fading etc.
I try to swap around my other pieces but it's a hassle changing handbags.
The piece I use everyday is the mono pouchette.

Don't worry about the framboise..it's the most durable next to the red, indigo, bronze and fuchsia. Of course, don't put newspapers or anything right up against it but it definitely won't fade. I've used my fuchsia PTI which is very similar in color and haven't had ANY problems with transferring or fading at all. :)

Both. I have both rare and "regular" LVs. I tend to put some away for a few months and bring others out. I don't know how many I have currently, but I have sold almost 40 in the past two years.
And for those who only buy new -- that makes it kind of hard to collect discontinued and rare items like cherry blossom, graffiti, old epi colors, etc. -- some of which I collect.

Definitely a collector. I have about 25 LV pieces which rarely see the light of day. Its not that I buy bags that I know I won't use...but it just ends up being that way because I have a major fear of getting the vachetta stained.

I prefer to use cheaper bags such as Coach, Guess, Juicy and Le Sportsac on a daily basis.

There was a thread like this in another sub-forum so I thought why not ask the same question here: Do you use your bags soon after you purchase them? Do you sell them when you get bored? Do you buy them just to sit on the shelf in your closet?

I am def. a user! 99% of the time I end up walking out of the store using the bag I just bought!!! But I do find that I somewhat tend to collect as well (so far the only bag I got rid of is my mono speedy 30 because I didn't like the sag:shocked:) and I do like to buy limited pieces as well.:smile1:

How about you? Are you a user or are you are a collector?

I'm a user. I can't afford to be a collector yet. With nicer bags, I tend to use them occasionally rather than daily to make sure it has a longer "lifespan."

LVCRAZED, you are just too funny! But hey, I don't mind being "whiplashed" by LVs! haha

I guess I should add that I'm also a collector. I have some of the rarer pieces, like CB, Cerises, Panda, Graffiti, some of the harder to find vernis colors and I recently just got one of the runway bags from last F/W, the Monogram Denim Chinchilla Demi Lune.
So technically, I'm a collector I guess but I use all my bags..so both, really. :)
