Amusing like soap opera.

What is Francesco Biasia well known for? Fur Bags. Affordable Fur where to find in this World? CHINA definitely. What's the most common & affordable fur? Rabbit Fur right? Where do they come from? CHINA that's where they are imported from. That is how you get a Luxurious Fur Bag at affordable price. Even if it is Made In Italy, i am sure parts of it are Made In China.

Your conclusion is advertising Etsy? Sorry to dampen your mood, i am sure the cheap, affordable bag you can get there with label Made In USA has part of it's material Made In China be it fabrics, Leather, threading, studs or zippers etc. Your rambling is indeed entertaining. Thanks for your suggestion, I would'nt consider bags on Etsy as Designer Bags but there are definitely a lot of creativity in handmade stuffs there. People who like them might get them but when it come to handmade stuffs as such, they are unique, imperfection are common that what makes it special, quality wise its subjective as there is no QC or standards in their manufacturing process or choice of material used for fabrication morever Seller or Maker are not professional neither recognised in the relevant trade. Pardon my ranting just my 2 cents worth of PERSONAL PERSPECTIVE.

Um, another okaaaaaaaaaaayyy.
First of all, I wouldn't be caught dead carrying a fur anything, let alone a fur bag made in China.
And DUH, I wouldn't consider etsy bags "designer" either, but that's not the point, is it? What suggestions do you have if someone wants to buy American made handbags? I'd LOVE to hear them.

personally, i just hate that americans are losing their jobs &companies just move to china to cut cost. they still charge us the same high prices but pay super cheap labor. that's not fair. i'm asian-american myself but i still think that we should keep jobs in the USA.

Yep, my concerns exactly!

I ended up buying a couple of Jenny Yuen bags (made in New York)
But as Designer_Homme states, some components are probobly still manufactured in China.

At least the bag itself was keeping someone in America busy!

Whoa, girl!

This thread is full of suggestions for American made designer handbags (and others made in Italy and elsewhere) That's how I found my new made in USA Jenny Yuen satchels!

And returns are easy in the stores mentioned. Etsy is an unknown. Of course people would be more comfortable shopping where returns are commonplace and easy. Let's get :back2topic:

And oh dear Lord...TJ Maxx and Marshalls have great customer service? That's a good one.
YEs the best customer service that I received from Marshalls is when I went into their "bathroom" and stepped in human poo, When I told the manager he yelled to another worker to put an "out of service" sign on the door. When I asked if he had something I could dissinfect the bottom of my shoe with he told me to wait in line at the returns line. After waiting for a very long time nobody could help apparently , that was  customer service !

I getting amuse more & more each time.

Where do leather come from? I start to wonder if pig, cow, calf or goat have fur? Obviously they do. I hope you would'nt be caught dead carrying furless, shaved LEATHER bag. You are definitely not Vegan or into Vegan bag, your only passion probably etsy bags. Sorry no advertising, it's so obvious now.

Oh My God, I am LMAO.

READ BETWEEN THE LINES. YES, TJ Maxx & Marshalls have great customer service at least they are in existent with REAL COUNTER, REAL PEOPLE there for you to see, scold or complain, just like you can see their bags, feel & touch untill you comfortable to buy them. What kind of service you get is subjective? Depend on many factors like who serve you, who are you etc. Few would waste time on good customer service on a customer who are obviously ridiculous making unreasonable demands or simply making a hoo-ha buying a $50 purse as if she spending $50,000. It's a discount store what you expect? If so chicken liver can become foie gras, chocolate can become truffles.

You want excellent service then pay for it, you can get SA to come your house show you their label new collection if you are VALUE CUSTOMER & VIP with your frequent big purchases. If so, I would'nt see you at TJ Maxx or Marshalls let alone etsy. This is a very good one.

Every individual is different so is their cognitive process, some are fast some are slow. We must still recognise or accept them as rightful thinking member of society without biase, it's a ********ic world.

Dear Rosie,

Forget about Jenny Yuen, Jimmy Choo or Vera Wang, they are not for some. We really need to get back to Topic. We do not support free advertising, hope it would'nt become another shining monkey case.

Jenny Yuen satchel look simple & nice.

Sorry to hear about this, I guess you are too nice, you forgot to yell at the manager & make yourself clear that you need help IMMEDIATELY. Maybe you should throw your shoe at them...I probably would... just joking.

I will not wait, i would probably dump my shoes unless i like them very much, buy a new pair of shoes, wear them & never go to Marshalls again.

Coach...Dooney...Vera Bradley...Stone Mountain...Max of New York. All these once quintessentially USA brands are now completely outsourced to China. Treesje too. In many cases like Vera Bradley the outsourcing has happened in just the last few years.

I have not seen a high percentage of D&B bags from China. Most of the ones I've owned and seen in their stores still have a USA label. Only one I have says "China" inside. Although, like Coach, you never know if that will change.

:goodpost:
EXACTLY. This is the main problem for me.

ITA...the money is not necessarily going to the people who make the luxury goods. I don't particularly relish the idea of my paycheck going to fund jobs that are not up to fair labor standards. This goes for jobs all over the Third World (and yes, I am the child of Latin American immigrants myself).

As for suggestions of bags still made in the States, Bryna Nicole and Rachel Nasvik make their bags in the US.

However, I also do not hesitate to buy bags from brands like Belen Echandia (made in Italy) and Ignes (made in Uruguay) which are not necessarily cheap but that are ethnically produced.

^ It could also mean "Made in France", "Made in Italy", etc. Imported simply means that it has come from outside the US (or whichever country the store is based in), and does not necessarily mean it was made in a country with low labour costs.

Usually when it is made in Italy or France, Nordstroms will note that. When it just says 'imported' 9 times out of 10 it is made in China. just what i've noticed on their site.

I have also noticed that imported usually equals China. I wish they would list exactly where things are made - so that if there are countries of manufacture where you prefer not to buy from you can make that distinction. You can kind of tell when they talk about x-craftsmanship or x-style instead of saying made in x. I remember Coach did that when they moved their manufacture outside the US.

FYI I don't think Etsy was necessarily a bad suggestion but probably not for people who don't like a more casual crafty look. I don't sell on it FYI. It's essentially ebay for crafters, with ratings. Many of the crafters take custom orders so it would be a way to get a bag made for yourself in the USA if you liked their styles.
