Are Rolexes really worth the money?

Anyone find that their Rolexes don't keep good time? My husband is a huge fan. He tried to upgrade his collection to Audemars Piguet, but he went back to Rolex, he just loves them. Anyway, he's ALWAYS asking me to adjust the time, even though he keeps them in winders. He says they lose time, that's just a Rolex thing. His Presidential, his "crown jewel," keeps the worst time of the lot!
maybe they just need a revisioning through rolex it is recommended to do so every 5 to 7 years.

This is mine, my hubby wants to put diamonds on the bezel and face for me but I haven't decided that yet. I just like it the way it is. I adore the face with the rolex running thru it. I hope the closeup will show it.

Gorgeous watch- I bet it's lovely on you!
Just becareful of adding diamonds and aftermarket parts as this can:
1.)void the warranty on your Rolex
2.) Diminish it's value
3.) Many retailers won't purchase Rolexes with added aftermarket parts.

Oh I know. That's why I haven't let him yet. We are jewlers here in Los Angeles so he has connections to have it done the "right" way. But I don't want to lose this face. I really like it.

I think they are worth the money. I have one, for about 5 years and it looks like new. Just keep in mind - factory tuneups cost about $500. They are sent to Rolex service department and are taken apart, cleaned, parts replaced, etc. It is not something done at the jewelers. The watch will last forever.

I have not taken my Rolex off since I turned 23. It is apart of my body I think. I have weighed myself with it, showered, snorkled, puked up in a drunken stooper and fell right on top of it on the sidewalk(bad memory) and it's still ticking.
Same Here! I was given my first for my High School Graduation and my second was a Solid Yellow Gold Presidential from my husband as a wedding present and my third I purchased myself because the 2 other I have were way too flashy (too many diamonds) and I wanted something for every day. I'm def. a Rolly Girl! One thing that's cool is that I own my great grandmothers white gold Omega dated back in the early 1920's, this is the only watch I take my rollies off for!

I love the dark blue dials! I hear they can be hard to read, though.

Yes, don't add aftermarket diamonds to the dial or it diminishes the value.

Thanks:amuse: I don't have any problem reading mine.. Actually the face looks a bit darker in the pic than it actually is.. It's more slate blue than dark navy blue. I should have taken the pic outside..

Nathansgirl, It's gorgeous! Good job! ;)

Acegirl I think I have the same blue as you....it was called Midnight Blue.....Rolex, the one and only!! I have my sportier stainless steel one for daily wear and my 2 tone jubilee blue diamond one for dressier events.
