Yes, Apple Care is the moisturizer/conditioner.

Ash, metallics are a fickle animal. Due to the crackled finish you may not be able to use the conditioner at all. If you feel like you need water protection you might try the Apple Guard spray, but I'm not sure that is really necessary either? No Apple product will necessarily help/change the crackled metallic finish from flaking.

Thanks for your advice ... I still haven't done anything to it - too scared :(

Mine is a lil' odd though. Some of the "scales" are bigger and I feel like they may flake a lil' too easily.

I might be the only one, but I decided to use the apple care on my crackled metallic amethyst audrey. I want to do everything possible to keep the pieces from peeling, and I think this will help. I had to put it on gently because I didn't want to rub it too much, and any globs will dry with a yukky film, so I just made sure to be careful not to leave globs around the pleats. So far so good. I also did the rain and stain, because I use that on everything, and I didn't want that to dry out the pieces and cause them to bend or peel. Otherwise, I pretty much followed my same appling routine, just more gently and cautiously.

Wow! Really? Did you do this recently??? I would like to stay up to date on how this works out for you - all the best wishes of course :)

You are one brave soul!

Yeah, well I've seen enough of the used ones (more so the crackles metallic maggies) with missing "scales." Seems like it might be inevitable, so, to me, that justified trying something. If, in my mind, it was going to lose pieces if I did nothing, it was worth trying something. The worst that can happen (okay, maybe not, but I'm being optimistic) is the same end result. I'll update with any info, but I don't use her frequently - not really an "everyday" bag, but I'll share if anything happens.

I remember reading about someone having problems with applying something to their Kira. Has anyone used Apple on one and what were the results? Sure don't want to ruin these bags. It seems strange to me that Coach sells leather care products, but it seems to me that many of the bags I buy say not to use them.

Hi Everyone! I just bought Apple Leather conditioner and the Guarde Rain & Stain Repellant, and I just wanted opinions on whether BOTH are safe to use on my bags. I did a search, but I didn't find exactly what I was looking for (which may be because I am bad at searching lol)

My HG Bags:
white legacy leather hippie
natural legacy leather hippie
whiskey legacy leather hippie
black leather/jacquard legacy hippie

Also, I have a white legacy shoulder bag that needs to be cleaned, I assume the leather is the same as on the hippie?
Thanks for any insight you can give! :smile1:

You mean the small swing pack? Just use conditioner & guarde.

I am waiting my first leather coach. I got the peyton satchel. I did order the Apple conditioner but now reading about the spray. Should I do it as well or is using the conditioner enough. I am assuming that the spray is needed as well.

Wish I would have thought about this before I placed the first order.

Okay this is my game plan. I read through all the post but want to make sure I am getting this straight.

I am waiting for a blue leather peyton satchel to come in the mail that the SA ordered for me. I am also waiting for my bottle of Apple conditioner to arrive.

When I get the bag I plan on conditioning and then spraying with Wilson leather spray. I already have a bottle of this and since it seems safe to use with use it before using hte Apple spray.

Any other advice or is this right?
