I personally have only ever used the conditioner on the leather, never on fabric or patent leather. On my fabric bags that have leather accents, I typically will condition the leather and am careful not to get it on the fabric. I'm honestly not sure how it would work on the fabric. I know that the spray guard is good to use on both leather and fabric items. Patent is pretty good all on it's own since it can easily wipe clean.

LCOOPER, I noticed that you are in Ontario too .. where are you getting your Apple Conditioner from? Are you just ordering online from LeatherStuff??

just wondering what i need to do to my new ginger sabrina? i saw a lil bit of color transfer starting to occur so i stopped using her. i bought the apple cleaner and conditoner and the spray. can i use these products on her, and if so how? which do i use first ect. thanks for any answers ladies. :o)

anybody out there used the apple stuff on a teal julianne?
what about a the grey sabrina? My sabrina's beggining to look pebbly and i'm hoping some conditioner will get her back into shape.

I wouldn't use the conditioner on the metallic claire (rubbing may rub off the metallic finish). For the other bags I would condition them with the apple conditioner - I sometimes do this in several coats. Then afterwards I would spray with the apple rain guard. For the metallic claire I would just spray thoroughly and in several coats (let dry completely between each one). I only have one metallic bag (pleated ergo) and don't use it often, but this was advice that I read here on TPF. Maybe other ladies with several metallic bags could provide more input. As for colour transfer, I would still be careful with the lighter bags just in case. I have a grey sabrina and have not experienced any colour transfer to it so far.

I read here on TPF to not use the cleaner but only the conditioner. You may want to do a search on how to get rid of colour transfer in the first place then condition your bag well with the apple conditioner and then spray with the apple rain guard

ildera5: I'm in the same area but I actually got my apple items in the states from the burlington coat factory. Much cheaper! Is it possible for you to take a trip across the border or have someone pick some up for you?

aml716 - apple stuff works great on the madison leather!

DO NOT use the conditioner on the signature parts of your bag! That would be like spreading lotion all over fabric. :nogood: The conditioner is only for leather, but I have heard some do use the protector spray on siggy bags. I personally have not since Coach signature fabric is pretreated anyway.

I just want to double and triple check so I'm on the right track here...

Can I use Apple cleaner on the Peyton signature sateen shoulder bag I plan to buy?

I also have an Ali that I believe is done out of similar material (it's a signature fabric, anyway, with some type of a soft leather handle maybe?). Can I use it on that too?

What about the trim on the Peyton? It has some kind of a patterned shiny leather, and then leather for the corners.

TIA!

The apple conditioner and cleaner is meant for leather, not fabric. I don't think you should use that on your fabric bags. It's fine to use on the leather trim/handle etc. The rain and stain garde is fine to use on leather AND fabric though :)

And yes, like others have said, the cleaner is meant for dirty bags. I haven't used the cleaner, so I can't say from experience, but people have reported that it is harsh and tends to remove color if you're not careful.

Jelita had a great post for cleaning fabric bags, it might be in the general cleaning your bags thread though.

Thanks so much for your reply! I'll save the cleaner for other leather items then. :o)

Thanks for the info., bumbleBEA!! I am waiting as I type for my new passport, so hopefully soon, I will be able to cross the border :). Now, onto the Burlington Coat Factory web site :)!

I tried a search, but with ALL the Apple threads there is no way to conveniently search for my specific questions, so I'm just going to ask! *Mods please don't move :smile1:*

Ok, so I finally broke down and bought some Apple Conditioner! Upon moving I found a brand new pair of Doc Martens that were never worn and TOTALLY dried out. Apparently my apartment was bad for leather, I also noticed my Bleecker tote getting dry.

So in photo one, we have my lovely Hamptons Twill Market Tote (eBay steal for only $50! :yahoo:) Now, the body of the bag is twill, but the white leather needs moisturized, however, do you see the vachetta running alongside the white leather? Do I tape the vachetta to keep it safe from Apple? And should I worry about getting white stains on the Navy Blue Twill?

Next we have my Bleecker XL Tote in Chambray Suede... It's reversible with the Bleecker leather on the other side, the leather side needs Apple'd, but should I worry about it ruining the BRIGHT blue? (here's a total newb question) Will it soak through the leather and ruin the suede?

Here are a couple other bags, again, would the tape method apply to the Coach Voyager tote? And the Michael Kors Jet Set tote needs to have the piping moisturized BAD (main reason I bought the Apple) and do I apply the tape method here as well? It's just coated canvas with MK Luggage leather trim on the handles and piping.

Also, on my XL Lily, how do I Apple with ALL THAT HARDWARE!?! Do you just do your best to not touch the hardware?

Please, I BEG for the help of all you knowledgable Apple'rs! I am totally SCARED to do this, but it needs to be done. So any tips and advice are appreciated! And sorry this post was so long, I just want to be sure I do this right, and have these specific question!

THANKS! YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST!

Apple wont hurt hardware, so don't worry about that.

As for the vachetta-I'm terrified of vachetta and do not own any so I am no help there.

The smooth blue side of your Bleecker tote (which I want to steal from you ;)) will be fine. Apply light coats and it won't soak thru to the suede.
