Camel, like most light bags in color is subject to color rub EVEN AFTER treated. Older 06-07 Legacy bags seem to be more prone to this than others, and prevention is great but don't expect perfection from the elements when it comes to them.ok my eyes are falling out of my head ,,:weird: after reading 15 pages of posts!!!
i love all the info but i am confused...
i have a new camel lily,,,i know that she will darken over time and scratch easily,,should i use any apple on her or just let her be??
if i can use apple,,which one?? the conditioner i am guessing and not the cleaner?
help please!!
does anyone have a camel and left it alone to its own devices??
thanks guys!!
Scratches are more evident on the camel, gardenia, walnut and colored old legacy bags similar to your Gigi. They will come, and most are "softened" but not totally removed by conditioning with apple.
Cleaner should be USED WITH CAUTION on ANY bag, as it can and COULD remove color. Use it on a small unseen portion of the bag before applying liberally all over. I have found it DOES remove color on suede, but I used it in small amounts and the color difference for me is minimal compared to the stain I was removing.
Blue Jeans tend to be the biggest enemy of these bags, as I have an Ivory thompson that I wore and it rubbed against my jeans. I had apple conditioned it and also 2x apple rain guarded it and it STILL happened, but the rub was perhaps less in intensity than it could have been, and the spot is noticeable to me on the back, but was minimized by some more conditioning to remove the color gently. Not perfect, but not as bad as an eyesight as it could have been.
