My friend accidently splashed some coffee on my Teal Julianne today, and I followed the instructions and wiped the spots with a damp tissue (didn't have cloth on me!). When I looked at the tissue, there was DYE on it!!!! I don't know what to do! >.< Luckily you can't really notice it on the bag... But she arrived with a few scratches and I actually appled those parts, and she was fine...?

I'm confused =\ Water made dye come out for her, yet apple didn't?

Do not use Cleaner - as others seem to have mentioned.

I love the apple care moisturizer and use it on all my leather! Usually, I use apple guarde (rain and stain repellent) then apple care. With my Sabrina, the 1st thing I did was apple care to enhance the color. Then I did the rain and stain, and condition again afterward because the repellent can be a little drying - not much, but the conditioner livens up the color more.

I used the Apple cleaner on my cherry Sabrina last weekend and it came out fine. Mind you, I used a black cotton cloth to wipe it on so I am not sure if any dye came off. After cleaning, I followed up with the conditioner and now my Sabrina looks the best it ever has. It was previously a reddish-pink and after cleaning and moisturizing, it is now a darker, richer red, which I love!

I'm not sure about the Apple brand, although I've heard it's amazing!! I spray all my bags with Wilsons leather protector. I'm very anal about it. I even made a check list in my Blackberry so I know when a bag was sprayed so I can do it again if it's been awhile.
I'm a SAHM with an extremely busy lifestyle. I take very good care of my bags but life is crazy and you never know!!!

Hi all...I need a little "apple" advice. I'm purchasing the yellow parker hippie and I am concerned about color transfer from my clothing. Will the apple products help to keep this from happening? And also, where do I purchase the products? Obviously I've never used them before, so thanks in advance for your help!

Edit...how do I know if apple is safe for the Parker Leather? Thanks!

Normally I don't think of the conditioner preventing transfer, but the leather spray (either apple's brand, or other) might help better to prevent, but I'm not sure there is anything guaranteed to prevent transfer..

The apple garde spray helped with transfer issues in the past. I've used it on a white signature hampton's carryall and haven't seen transfer yet. I used it on my black/gray carly which had transfer issues even after I did. I spray it on all my leather bags and haven't had issues with those either. Though most of my leather bags are dark but you can try spraying yours as some people had good results using apple garde. :shrugs:

I used the Apple conditioner on my yellow hippie with no problems, and then sprayed it thoroughly with Wilson's leather protector. Hoping these two steps will help prevent transfer, or at least make it easier to remove. (fingers crossed)

^^^

The short answer is that Coach's conditioner contains silicones, which can keep the leather from "breathing".

"Silicones/furniture polish – should not be used on leather. They will form a coating on the surface of the leather which will not allow any moisture to get to the leather itself and will eventually break all the finish down and cause it to crack."

Apple does not, and from posts I have read comparing the two, people have agreed that overall Apple seems to be more effective as well.
