I'm bumping this up since BDP didn't get a reply yet and I also have a question.

I have a metallic pleated ergo hobo. I've done searches and read that the apple spray rain guard works well on metallic bags, but do I need to condition it first with the apple care conditioner or just use the spray directly?

Definitely never use moisturizer on a metallic bag.

So glad this thread is here..maybe we should make it a sticky? Or is there already a sticky that would cover this??

My questions are:

1)I want to spray/condition my patchwork bleeker. There are some suede patches. I know not to condition those, but when I spray the protectant should I cover up any other patches, or just spray the entire thing?Oh, and does the Wilson's spray work on suede?

2)A waiter spilled some H20 on my NEW plum Carly!! Urg. I wiped it up w/a napkin, but it looks now like I have streaks and a spot or two. There was lemon in the water, but I hadn't squeezed it in yet. Should I just use the Apple conditioner and hope it comes out?

Thanks so much for your replies!!

Definitely spray away on your patchwork bag. I can't think of anything you'd need to cover before spraying on that one.

As for your carly, I can definitely relate. My BF's mother had a water bottle in her classic British Tan bag I gave her for Christmas, and the water bottle leaked all over the bag, leaving a horrendous water mark on the bottom half of the bag. I started out by using apple leather cleaner. When it dried, the water spot was still there. Then I used apple moisturizer, but it actually didn't do the trick in this case. What ended up working best was wiping the whole area down with water to even out everything, then using Coach moisturizer. I find on certain bags, the Coach moisturizer actually works better than apple. Remember, the Coach moisturizer was created especially for certain leathers. The classic leather and the Carly leather are two of these. The bag now looks good as new, and the silicones in the Coach moisturizer will help it from getting water stains in the future.

^^I use a microfiber dish towel--mine are made by Pampered Chef, but you can get them anywhere. Super soft! Although I would assume you can just rub in in by hand, I never really considered that.

I use rags that I bought from the local discount hardware store that are made up of what seems to be old cut up t-shirts. It's definitely t-shirt material. Very soft and gentle, and perfect for using moisturizer. At Coach we use the same type of rags. They're extremely inexpensive, even more so if you have an old t-shirt you don't need anymore ;)

Thank you both so much!

Gee, I thought Apple was the "end all be all" of what to clean your leather Coach bags with! I just used the cleaner on my black Leigh and it did lift some color (not much) and the conditioner! The conditioner is AWESOME! I can't believe what it does to the leather! It's even MORE like butter than before!! I do have a question though and here it is...

When you spray your Coach leather bags (ie: leigh, gigi, ali) do you try and avoid the hardware? Cover the hardware? Not worry about it?

I'm getting ready to do my Gigi, glad I read more about the cleaner...now I know to just condition and spray!!!

WOW I'm sold on the Apple products after reading this!
I just looked on all the sites provided.. shipping to Canada starts at $35 and up!!! One site was $50 shipping to Canada!!! thats like another few bottles that money could go towards.
And how come there is NOTHING coming up on Ebay?!?! I thought there would be at least someone selling them.
I'm so bummed! Anybody know of anywhere in Vancouver BC (or Canada) they sell Apple products???
My coach bags need it

^^^ You might try looking for Apple in Burlington Coat Factory (if they even have stores in Canada)
If not I would recommend having someone you know in the U.S. order it for you and have them send it up as it would probably be much cheaper to go about it that way......$35 shipping is insane!

Remember ladies the 20% off special is still going on until Jan 31st.
Codeword at checkout is "clearance".

For ergo owners, I have a mahogany and burnt orange and I am wondering what apple products would be best to buy. These are my first leather bags. So far I've only had shoes made of leather.

^^^^If I were you I would start out by ordering the 8 oz bottle of Apple Conditioner (lotion) and a can of the Apple Guarde (spray protectant)

Sale is still going on too so now would be a good time to pick some up.....
They ship really fast too so that is nice.

You might have a somewhat difficult time with Appleing a pleated bag (your burnt orange satchel) but I am sure you will figure it out.

I use a microfiber cloth as well when 'Apple-ing' my bags like wcofer28.
Great minds think alike!

For the polishing cloths, I actually have a little collection of those shoe polish mitt cloths that hotels give you. They work great!

I was also wondering if anyone has already appled a parchment sabrina or julianne?
Mine probably doesn't need it yet but I wouldn't want the apple to turn it yellow or something. I don't think it will but I should probably treat it before it gets used too much.

Ok, I've read through all of these and I was wondering, I just ordered Shining Monkey to put on my Bleeker Haversack when I purchase it, but I was wondering can you use Shining Monkey on Legacy Bags ex. Mandy Gigi... etc.

I used the apple guard on my haversack, but I've heard of others using monkey on reg. leather bags, it's leather protectant spray no matter how you look at it.
