I too use Apple conditioner on all my leather now, with the exception of suede or nubuck. I usually use Wilsons TLC leathe rprotector so I can't comment on the Apple rain and stain, but I have found that the Apple Leather Care conditioner is amazing. It is gentle enough for everything I have thrown at it.

Thank you!!!

Hi there,

I just got an outlet legacy shoulder bag (will post reveal pics when back home. I am traveling now) and wondering if I should apple this little lady? Part of me says "no" because I really like the scratched up, worn in look. Part of me says "yes" bc I don't want it to look like it got in a bar fight.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

Happy Appling everybody!

So nice of you to share! I just placed my first order! Thanks!

Jams, the Apple conditioner is very gentle and I use it on all my bags, Legacy included. Cleaner is a whole other ballgame though, and definitely do not use it if the care card says not to. It can lift the dye.

Good luck!

I use Wilson's TLC protectant spray on all my leather. It has never changed the color or texture of my bags at all and it works nicely to protect them. Another TPFer spilled Italian dressing on her bag she had treated with Wilson's and it didn't leave a mark!

I have heard mostly good reviews about Apple Rain and Stain as well, but there have been a handful of cases I read where it darkened the leather a bit, so I have stuck with my Wilson's personally.

MMartinez, I have never covered the hardware myself. Just give the hardware a quick polish afterwards if it seems like much has gotten on it.

(BTW DH and I love Rockband too!)

I sprayed my parchment Julianne with Apple Rain & Stain, and didn't cover the hardware. It turned out just fine, BUT where the metal hangtag touched the leather, a couple of very small marks were left. THANKFULLY they buffed out with some Apple conditioner! So I would just be cautious about where the leather comes in contact with any hardware when you spray especially while the bag is drying, but I think that the hardware itself would be just fine uncovered.
