Anyone wear a fake ering on vacation?

I use to get the train to a really bad area of town for work and was always afraid or wearing my e-ring so I'd just wear my wedding ring or turn the e-ring upside down and hide the diamond or wear a different ring he gave me that cost under $500. People always told me I was crazy for doing that but I just didn't want to get any unneccasary attention.

I have a fake CZ ering that I'll wear when I travel internationally, but if I'm traveling domestically, I just wear my ring. Unless we're going on a beach vacation, that is, in which case I just wear a plain silver band so I don't loose my wedding band.

Absolutely.....I also use my "fake" Hermes and Chanel too. Why travel with anything real.

Sarcastic, but making a point. Fake is fake, not matter how you try to justify it.
A lookalike tiffany "DBY" is still a copy, a CZ will never be a diamond, and anyone who knows jewelry can tell the difference.

I pass no judgment against anyone who choses this route, however, I cannot for the life of me, ever understand why threads about "fake" jewelry are acceptable, versus any mention to "fake" handbags. And please all manufacturing (child labor)/political discussions aside....

I never take my e-ring with me when traveling anymore.. did it once got alot of stares.. so decided not worth the hassle, I was always afraid something would happen to it.. so now i just take my wedding band when traveling.. Both the ring and I will be safer that way

i accidentally brought my omega watch with me on vacation and i do wear diamond studs earrings all the time, even on holidays. first of all, i do not remove my studs earrings. unless yr kids will pull yr earrings off, i do not think u need to get new ones for the trip, provided they r on yr ears all the time

as for the watch, i make it a point to take it off and immediately place it in a watch pouch i bring overseas with me. This watch pouch is in my bag. I do not lay it all over the place because we change hotels as its a tour package... i think its safer this way because if in the morning, i am in a hurry to pack my things n go, the watch is already in my bag. so whatever u want to take off, make sure its placed in some zip pouch etc that is already in yr bag. dont put yr things ard in the bathroom etc.

and lastly, i am a very messy person. at home, my rings can be all over the place. but when i am overseas, i can do the above and i think that u should have no problem with it. Enjoy yr trip!

Hello wonderful TPF ladies.

I have a question and am hoping to get your advise.
I will be traveling to Norway this summer for 1 week and then to Barcelona and Sitges for 3 weeks. I normally wear my E-ring to Norway as we don't stay in a hotel. It is our house so I can take the ring off for water sports, mountain climbing, etc and leave it knowing it will be safe.
My dilemma is if I should wear it at all on this trip as we will be traveling onto Spain. I don't normally wear my ring to the beach and wouldn't be comfortable leaving it behind in our rented apartment... I don't think we will have a safe box for our valuables.

Should I purchase a CZ stand in for my e-Ring to wear, wear no rings at all, or just wear my beloved e-ring the whole time and just not take it off? Is it wrong to get a CZ ring to wear?. I don't want to pass it off as real but I think my finger will be naked without it. I've never not worn my E-ring for any extended period.

Thank you for your advise. I truly appreciate your responses.

As someone who JUST got engaged and now knows what it's like to be madly in love with a piece of jewelry and understand it's significance...I can understand why you are hesitant both to wear it and also to leave it at home. In this case I would probably leave the E-ring at home and wear the wedding band (if you are married) and if not, I would just leave it at home all together and not worry about a CZ. I would be hesitant about leaving it in your apartment with no lock box as well so I get your concern.

I never take my ering on vacation...before I was married I used to wear another much cheaper ring so I still had something on my finger, now I just keep my wedding band.

I've been thinking of a CZ but a quality one on a gold shank is pretty expensive if it's only meant to be worn a few days every year.

Maybe just have your SO buy a cute bauble in Spain for your finger?
You'll get a cute stand-in and a nice travel momento.

I rarely travel with big jewelry unless I can wear it the entire time.
It's not worth the worry/distraction. (This may be my personal strategy to collect little jewels.)
