I agree about the safe deposit box at the bank......that's where I put my rings when I am traveling........I usually just wear my 2mm diamond band.
Anyone wear a fake ering on vacation?

Sometimes. I have worn a fake set on several and only on a couple trips did I wear my real. I actually packed a fake set on one trip and wore the real. In the swankier spots I wear my fake because it's hugemongous and it seems to get us better treatment than my real set.
I think it's a fun ideal to get a fake set, like some people mentioned already. You can get something truly outrageous and what do you care if people question it's authenticity? You're on vacation!
That and it's just an excuse to buy more jewelry.
I was in the Bahamas a few years ago as part of a cruise. We were dropped off at the port and took a taxi over to the Atlantis Hotel and Casino. I would tell you to research the area you'll be in. If it's a touristy area like a resort where you'll be staying the whole time, you should feel comfortable to bring your fine jewelry. If you plan to do some exploring into less touristy areas, see if your hotel has a safety deposit box and wear a sim.

I'm leaving for vacation in Aug for 12 days, and I was thinking of not wearing my ering since I'll have my 2 kids with me. Do you think I should get a fake one? I know some people do that so they don't lose their real one. The thing is I don't know where to even get one and whether it'll look decent. Any suggestions?
Having never purchased such products myself, I cannot comment on their aesthetic qualities, but Asha and Moissanite are two examples of simulated "diamonds".
Just my opinion, but why go to the trouble? If I were you I'd wear my wedding band (presuming you are indeed married), or else not bother!

I left my e ring at home when I went down south... I just wore my diamond band....since that won't come off and get lost that easily....
agreed and even if it is uninsured i would just wear the wedding band and not buy a copy
I would just wear your wedding band or if it's too fancy get a cheap plain band. I wouldn't wear my ering or anything looking like diamonds on vacation because I wouldn't want to draw attention to myself and possible get robbed.
I just wear my wedding band when travelling. I do have cheaper cz fashion jewellery for the beach and vacation, because I don't have to baby them, I can swim and shower with them on, without freaking out! Cz is pretty strong, and looks good without breaking the bank.
