Im leaving for cancun on saturday and im wearing my ering. If we go somewhere sketchy ill just twirl it and wear it on my palm (its set in a basic solitaire). Its meant to be worn and if it get lost or stolen then thats what insurance is for. Im going to b wearing my ring for the rest of my life (hopefully) so it might as well get used to travelling

I would only wear it if you feel it won't make you a target for theft while on vacay. Also if that's a non-issue then if you can wear it at all times, including your sports that you plan on doing. I just wouldn't want to take it off my finger for fear of losing it or hotel theft. I would not get a cz ring but maybe a plain gold band or low key diamond band instead if you do opt for not wearing it. Have a fun and safe vacation!

To the OP: You took the right decision, thiefs have a talent to notice tourists...I've never had anything stolen in Paris where I leave but would not travel with my jewelery.

As some other poster suggested you could buy a little something to wear on your ring fingrr while you're in Spain!

They say in my town that the sea attracts gold so better not to take it to the beach.. as for spain I would not recommend taking it with you unless you will be in a 4-5 star hotel...

I would take it with you and not take it off. The only time it can get stolen/lost is when you leave it somewhere.
NEVER leave it in a hotelroom even if its the Ritz in Paris. On your finger, nothing can happen. Spain is alright. You don't need to worry. We had a holiday house in Marbella for many years, left empty for 90% of the time. Not once were we broken in.
Enjoy :)

Thank you all for your advice and responses. We have switched gears and instead of Sitges will now be headed towards either Marbella or Malaga. I will probably just put the ering in the safe and wear my bands. Have been to Marbella before and i know my ring would be safe but I really don't want to think about it as we play in the sand building sand castles and slather on sun tan lotion.. I have 2 young children.

Now, I need to locate an apartment to rent! Let the real fun begin!

Thank you for all your responses. I think I'm going to leave the e-ring safely tucked away at the safe deposit at the bank. The ring is insured but why even take the chance? i would be heartbroken to loose it..either by theft or lost stone in the water/sand. Either way, I have some time to decide.
I think I will just wear my plain band with my eternity ring. I can survive without wearing my ring for a few weeks. We are traveling w our 6 and 8 year olds so most of the time will be spent on the beach building sand castles.
Thank you all for your help!

Smart choice! Def best to leave it home! When I was in Barcelona I only wore my wedding band because I didn't want to draw any unnecessary attention. Have a great trip!

I wore mine in Barcelona over Thanksgiving but i always wore it. I never left it in my hotel room. With Spains unemployment rate at 25% they are notoriously known for pick pocketing and theft. I just advise you to be very careful. I wore messenger bags that laid diagonal across my body and had a zipper the whole trip.

Wow you are brave! I'd miss my rings but I don't think I will be wearing my wedding band or ER there (going with DH next month). I'll just wear my plain gold band with a teeny speck of yellow diamond ;) I've read about the pick pocketing so I'm afraid to draw any attention at all since we'll be catching the metro alot.

Do you wear and take your e-ring and wedding band to vacation destinations where you know you will be swimming?

I won't wear them in the water nor do I feel comfortable leaving them in the hotel room (even in the safe). Leaving the set at home also feels a bit dangerous just in case.

What do you do? Any tips? Should I just wear them and leave them in the hotel safe during water activities?

I take my wedding set on vacation, but have a simple and very well fitted gold band that I wear to the beach or pool. Then I change into my wedding set when we dress for dinner each night. That way I have something on (I feel naked without at least a band on) but if it's lost it isn't a big deal. I leave my wedding set in the hotel room safe during the day and haven't ever had a problem.
