Anyone here happy w/1 carat e-ring?

I'm happy with my little .7 princess. My opinion is that the size of the diamond has nothing to with how my DH loves me. Money doesn't = love. But don't get me wrong, if he had given me a 5 ct honker, I would wear it proudly too!

I have a 1 1/2 carat and I'm happy with it. Anything bigger would get caught and would bug me. Plus the knowledge that it is not the original ring that my husband bequeath to me on our wedding day. He can get me another ring for our anniversary though. I would not turn it down....:D

My e-ring is .67 and I love it and would never upgrade. We did upgrade the setting to match my tiffany etoile wedding band, but that's it. It's fine by me because on our 2nd anniversary he surprised me with a 2+ ctw 3 stone ring from Harry Winston!

My rings are in the Calling all women with pictures of their rings on their fingers. I am post #241

My first wedding set was not even 3/4 carat. TW! I was happy with it when I got it. The set I have now totals around 3 carats, with the center stone being 1.25 . My fingers are tiny though. Size 4 so I think it looks pretty big on my hand. I'm thrilled with it.

i'm still in college, so i'm far far away from getting engaged, but a girl can dream about the perfect ring right? :cloud9:
i've always heard that a rough estimate of how much a guy spends on an engagement ring should be 3 mths salary?
soo this is what i do when i procrastinate studying, look for my dream ring. i want the tiffany setting..and im hoping for the 2.5 carat;) i don't think i can be happy with a 1 carat, cuz i'm not planning on upgrading later on. I already told my bf about it..i didn't want to be a TOTAL creeper...hahaha

The center stone in mine is .49ct princess cut and .50tw side stone in the engagement ring and I think it was .75tw for the wedding band (? i could be wrong) and my DH bought it and picked it out himself...I'm totally smitten with it. Call me a sentimental but I don't know if I COULD upgrade it even if I had the opportunity to....just knowing its what he picked out for me without any prior knowledge as to what I wanted, makes me love it more. And he's so proud of it too, constantly telling me how extra beautiful I make it when its on my finger . Plus, asthetically it "fits" my hand and doesn't look too small or too big on it either.

I love all size diamonds! Big, small, doesn't matter - beauty is beauty. (That said, I'm not American. Size does seem to be an American fixation. I know I'm far more concerned with the other three Cs.)

Regardless, the key to carrying off a diamond 0.2ct or 20ct is being in love with it. :tender:

Nothing you wouldn't see on a certain diamond forum that you are part of yourself!!!

Sometimes people need to be slapped back to reality. I'm not here to brush anyones ego.

I don't Mod that forum, perhaps our rules are different. If you are offensive or rude here, it won't fly. Another forum is completely irrelevant.

I have a 1.10 ct in a Tiffany setting with a Tiffany band with chanel set diamonds. I love it! And I'm super comfortable wearing it in any situation or when traveling.

I think its not a good idea to wear 3 months of salary on your finger - unless the guy has a trust fund somethere - there are so many other things to save for in life when you're starting out. I was so happy to get my ring and pay for our wedding (well elopment) and honeymoon and be debt free. Trust me you don't want to get a in size competition or put so much emphasis on the material when you start out.

Actually I don't know anyone whose DH spent 3 mos. salary?

I totally agree! 3 months salary seems crazy at every salary level. He is buying the ring and we are paying for the elopement and honeymoon all upfront in cash. I would never trade that for a bigger ring!

I have a 0.91ct Tiffany diamond solitaire and I love it! It has alot of sentimental value and eventhough I received an upgrade (1.82ct cushion cut), I still wear my original e-ring occasionally :D

We were exactly shopping for an upgrade but when we chanced upon a cushion cut diamond which was exactly 2x the ct wt of my original e-ring, we felt that it was meant to be :tender:

Three months salary is more than we put down for our first house!

At any rate, I enjoyed my 1.03 princess when it was gifted to me, but looked forward to an upgrade (I now have 1.76 rb). I think if I lived in a different location I might have been perfectly happy with the 1 ct. forever.
