You ladies with tiny hands and fingers seem lucky to me. I have a large hand and I wear an 8.5 ring. The only good thing is that my fingers are long. Still, I feel like I have man hands ajd am embarrased when someone wants to try on one of my (huge) rings.

I wear a 8! and also feel I have man hands! My ring is

stone is 1.30 and I feel due to my large hands it looks nothing like it!!

Sorry about the links, pics wont post!!

My engagement ring is only .78ctw total, it's a past, present, future style, so the actual centre stone is probably only about .30ctw. My wedding band only has .50ctw of diamonds in it, and my anniversary band has 1.00 in it, for a grand total of 2.25ctw for all three of my wedding rings. Nowhere near as big as a lot of the ones on here, but they're still absolutely beautiful.

It sounds like your rings are like mine. And, just as you said, I think that they are beautiful.

xlana, my hands are just like yours. And it was lucky for me b/c when I got engaged my fiance was so poor we couldn't afford hardly anything!

I ended up having to get a ring that's a 3-stone emerald cut. And a fairly small one at that. Just because it's the only thing that looked proportional on my finger. It was all width, with not that much length, if you know what I mean.

All the other rings I tried on went over my knuckle right into the next part.

My wedding ring is an eternity band (I wanted bling, LOL) and I literally went into the store and said "Give me the thinnest eternity ring you have please!"

But it looks quite substantial on my finger. I sometimes forget how thin my wedding set is, and then a longer-fingered friend will try them on and they'll look tiny!

But at least it's cheaper this way!

Actually, the average size of an American engagement ring is 0.50 carats. A 1-carat ring is beautiful, but can be a lot more expensive, depending on its clarity, cut quality, and color. You can get a full-carat diamond for the same cost as a 0.50 carat diamond if you a) shop wisely and b) are willing to sacrifice on certain other diamond qualities. Carat weight is nice, but there are beautiful diamonds that may have nearly-invisible flaws or are not-quite-colorless, but you can't tell the difference unless you are a jeweler and carry a loupe with you all the time. Also, shopping online, while it sounds a little strange with diamonds, can save you up to 40% (I've done my research) for the same reasons that Amazon can charge so much less for everything. As long as you are with a reputable online jeweler, you are totally safe. x

Carat weight is nice, but there are other things to think about that make your diamond more valuable in general, and more beautiful to you. And you won't have to sell a kidney to buy it.

I totally know what you mean!! I go into stores all the time and say the same thing, "what's your smallest ring size, because that's probably the only ring I could wear" LOL.

I have a 1.01 and i love it ... i dont want an upgrade ... what i do want (and its not about WANT) is to get it re-set cause the prongs are super sharp ... DH says we can do that on our 1 yr anniversary .. he didnt pick the setting, he proposed with the diamond so thats all im really attached to!

mine is a 3.75. My hands are small but they're proportional - not too long or too short fingers.

Oh my goodness girl that is small..!!
Mine is about 4.75..
My ring is just about 1 c..my guy was very picky though and was all about the clarity,etc...(which I think is great..but it was funny how into it he was...)
I think its a great size and wouldn't want anything different:smile1:

I have just under a carat pear shape in white gold and I will be replacing the setting soon but NEVER the diamond. My husband looked and looked for this diamond and it's colorless and flawless and He was so proud of himself that he did well. I will love this diamond forever and will never upgrade. Maybe my wedding band and the setting but never the diamond.
