anyone going to do PS in Korea this Dec

Hey ikiban8,

I've been doing some research for the past few months. I would recommend everyone and anyone to stay clear from Grand. I saw many articles about ghosting and shadow doctors at Grand. This is one of the articles I found online: http://www.koreatimes.co.kr/www/news/nation/2016/09/116_201818.html ..
If you search for them online you'll find a lot about the founder/head director being charged and prosecuted for having other doctors operating in his stead. According to that article the head director and some other doctors at Grand have already been suspended :\
Hi iJUSTloveYOU, thank you for taking the time to send over this article. I didn't know that they had such a bad reputation. Looks like my search continues for a hospital that specializes in rhino and facial contouring. Will reach out to April 31 and DA now since I've already booked my trip!

There are lots of threads about FC here on PF with many users talking about which clinics and surgeons are good for FC. A RealSelf user is being sued by ID for a review of FC experience with their clinic and has been forced to remove it! Most of the things I have read about FC has been on PFs forum, since I'm not looking into getting FC done myself I haven't really read much up about it outside of what I've seen around here.

Here are a few of the threads about FC! But I would definitely read into the clinics you choose to consult with and especially the surgeons who will be performing the surgery!

Also if you PM me your KK id we can chat about it a bit more! xx
You're awesome! Thanks for all the links. I don't have KK but will download today and send you my i.d. Would be nice to know that someone else is going to Seoul around the same time for moral support!

Hi guys,
I'm planning to go to Korea late November/early December and stay there for a month to get DES with ptosis and epi, alar and tip reduction possibly with rhino and cheekbone and mandible jaw reduction at Banobagi.

Hi everyone,
I am planning to do revisional rhinoplasty and maybe double eyelid surgery next week in Korea
I am planning to create a thread to post my experience from consultations to recovery.
So far the clinics I contacted and that have replied are:
1) Cocoline- for revisional rhinoplasty
2) Wannabe
3) Samsung line

I might be also visiting Braun and Opera

Hi Ladies,
xxx
I'm going to Seoul at the end of November for nose and eyes at JW,
Also in terms of money and payment, what would you recommend I do, change over currency here and bring over hard cash with me, bring travellers cheques and change over to cash once in Seoul, or any other suggestions? JW charge 10% credit card fee so if I can avoid or reduce that would be preferable.
What did you ladies do?

Thanks so much!
Vicki

Hi @cascades and @iJUSTloveYOU I am also considering to do my des revision with Dr. Choi from JW. Could I get in touch with you guys? So we share experience? Kakao / wechat?
can I have your KK ID.? Mine is pauly .. going in Dec and hoping to chat w someone on this

@Gantz : I picked my clinics primarily in regard to eyelid surgery to be honest...never thought about the fat graft procedure in such detail :P I have a feeling that its not entirely possible to make a safe quality judgment from the distance anyways...they could put everything on their website correctly and still rip you off when you re on the table so the remaining 40% of the way I plan to go by gut feeling.^^ Grace is a well known clinic for eyes, they are the ones that first came up with canthoplasty procedures.

@oreocream : that's great! keep us posted about your experience!

@iJUSTloveYOU : I would never put down a deposit unless you be been there and you re a 100% sure you want your surgery to be done by that clinic! Please don't let anyone pressure you into it. According to some clinics there is no real peak season but I'm also hoping there won't be any scheduling complications toward the end of November. Let me know your experiences with JW..I heard/read good things about them.
how not to put a deposit without being sure you get a slot? I hear JW fully book in Nov already. let's chat more?

When I booked my surgery with JW three weeks ago, they were already pretty booked out and the earliest date I could get was 29th Nov for surgery. But I had already booked plane tickets so had to take it or leave it. Luckily I booked for 3 weeks there, so basically first week will be touristy things.

Hi, I'm planning to bring my mom to Seoul this December. Do you know which clinics and doctors are most well-known for revision rhinoplasty and incision double eyelid with ptosis correction?

I think I got a really high quote and I have narrowed down to Banobagi and ID Hospital since both of them are very well known. I also got quote from DFW! Maybe because it's my mom third time do revision rhinoplasty and she has very sensitive eyelid with glaucoma so her case is complicated? I'm not so sure so I'm doing more research now.

Banobagi: They appear on a Korean TV program called 'Let me in', which is the most famous make over show in Korea these days.
Banobagi is one of the top clinics in Korea. But it is popular only in Korea. As it has been focusing on the local market, foreign patients don’t know it well. But Banobagi is beginning promotion and marketing abroad. It won’t take too long for foreigners to like it. The clinic size is not too big compared to other leading hospitals, but its’ ability in all parts is no less than them. So many Korean Girls like Banobagi very much, as their service as well as the result of surgery is superb. One more thing, their big merit is that all 4 CEO doctors themselves perform surgery to patients.

Revision Rhinoplasty : 7.15 mil krw
(Alar reduction : 1.32 mil krw)
Incision double eyelid with ptosis correction : 4.73 mil krw

ID Hospital: They appear on a Korean TV program called 'Let me in', which is the most famous ‘make over show’ in Korea these days.
ID Hospital is the most renowned plastic surgery hospital in Korea with more than 30 medical specialists. They also have dentists, dermatologists, ENT doctors, Physician in order to enhance appearance as well as functionality of different face and body features. They prioritize patient safety by recruiting the best doctors in Korea and equipping clinic’s facilities with the latest technology. They are a high standard plastic surgery hospital which is equipped with safety facilities required by the government, such as emergency power system, ambulances, and inpatient rooms(more than 30 hospital beds). One more thing, they have a very long history (15 years) compared to others, therefore they have numerous experiences in plastic surgery. They are much more well known for VIP and local patients. They are only hospital in Korea compared with others are just clinic. It means that they satisfy the hospital’s standard of Korean government for everything like size, safety, surgery, etc.

Revision Rhinoplasty : 6 mil krw
(Alar reduction : 0.5~1 mil krw)
Incision double eyelid with ptosis correction : 3.5 mil krw

These two clinics provide hospitalization services and rough price is KRW 110,000 per night. It will be my mom third time surgery (she got incident 1 first, hit by motorbike helmet 2 time for 8 months ago and that turned her nose ... long story short, very unlucky days for her  ) so I want to make this as the last time for her surgery and she'd be comfortable during the surgery and after that with hospital treatment. I'm still debating to go with these two clinics or Dr. Kim April 31 ?

Any advice for me?
My kakao id is mindyle if you also plan to go from Dec 15 this year
I suggest you read the other posts here first and reconsider your decision, both BNBG and ID does not have very good reputation both here and on Chinese forums..

I've schedule my surgery with ID hospital on 19/12/16 with dr il hwan kim. Will be doing revision DES+ptosis+inner n outer canthoplasty and revision rhinoplasty.

Cold hard cash is always best when it comes to bargaining. The price is usually the same for all big clinics, regardless of whether you are paying cash or credit. Don't worry about JW charging you 10% credit card fee, you will get 8% VAT (tax refund) for being a foreigner. They will provide you with a special receipt for that. The VAT receipt comes in a big envelop. If your procedure(s) cost A LOT of money then I would not advise you to carry that much cash on you, because it's risky. Sometimes paying a small credit card fee may not be a bad thing considering it's safer. Do NOT tell anyone in Korea that you are there for plastic surgery. You can't trust anyone. People can rob you or harm you. You never know. There are good and bad people in every country. So be safe. I don't use traveler's cheques so I don't know about that. You could withdraw money directly from your debt card at an international ATM at like the airport. There is a fee so prepare ahead of time how much you plan to withdraw. I personally just used my credit card. It was the safest option for me. Everywhere in Korea accepts credit card. I was even able to buy a small box of cotton swabs that cost like $1.75 USD through credit card at a pharmacy. Most credit cards will even give you an even better conversion rate than any exchange center.

Today was really a bad day for me, i had already booked my ticket for Seoul and i was supposed to travel today, so i woke up early went to the airport then at the airport they told me that i need a visa for S.Korea, i live in europe but i have an African passport.
I was going for a revision and fc, was to consult DA, View, and Face dental. Lost my ticket money , sobbing !! I already read that they do issue visa upon arrival at the airport?
