Farfetch took back the stained Fendi that I received (pictured in a prior post). It took them a few days to email me the Return Authorization Form, but once I had the purse picked up for return, the re-credit process was pretty efficient and no hassle. I thought Farfetch might make it up to me somehow with a coupon code or credit for future purchase to restore my faith in buying from them again, but they didn't.

My bank did charged me an International Transaction Fee ($17) for the purchase, so even though I was re-credited for the purse purchase, I cannot get the ITF back. I know $17 isn't much, but its the principle of the matter. I probably will only stick to domestic retailers from this point on: Saks, NM, Bergdorf, Nordstrom (but not Barneys, which is on my boycott list for multiple and repeated bad experiences).

I ordered a Chloe bag on farfetch on 3/7, and I got an email on 3/9 morning saying that my order has been received. I thought everything will go smoothly, but I got a call from them (or probably the boutique in Luxembourg) saying that they cannot confirmed my order because my payment through PayPal cannot be proceeded since its a huge amount of money. The lady asked me to pay by cards, but my account has already been charged so I refused. What does it mean my payment is not able to be confirmed? I asked the lady if there's another way to make the payment work, and she said I have to provide them my bank statement? W-T-F is going on? I have been shopping online for millions of times, and I have never been asked to provide bank statement. The lady said she will email me a request for my bank statement. Its been hours since she called, and I didn't receive any god damn email.

Farfetch sent an email to me a few days ago. They said that they have to cancel my order because my mailing address doesn't match my billing address. I am paying the bag by paypal, and the billing address is the same as my mailing address. I have no idea how they came out of this! I actually asked them if there's anything I can do to prove that the mailing address and billing address are the same. They didn't even bother answering my question! what they said is they cancelled my order and THAT'S IT! I am not going to buy anything from farfetch any more! I didn't get the bag I ordered on farfetch, and the bag is now sold out everywhere! What a waste of time!

Yes lots of burberry items and other designers are now made in China, but you will find it varies by the type of item, some of burberry small leather items are made in Italy and other places.

After reading the thread, I am nervous to order from farfetch now. I am also wary of the txes & duties I might be hit with when it comes into Australia where I am..

Anyone has experience with purchasing from Aust?

Thanks

Hey Keren, I'm from Sydney. I ordered two items from Frafetch; one from Italy and the other from the US. They arrived on time and items as advertised on their website. One item was small so I had to return it. Remember, you can only return it within five days from your receipt. I think my account was allowing me to return the other item (I didn't want to return that one) up to just longer than five days; after that, you cannot return it. The return shipping is free and you can track it on line. They sent me a confirmation email that they will credit my account but they also said it would take three weeks from the time they process it (which is after they recieved it). I haven't got my money but it hasn't been three weeks yet.

I just placed another order now. Hope it works out well.

In regard to duty (customes and taxes); as long as your order (including shipping) does not exceed AU$1,000 at the time it arrives here in Australia, you are not liable. The item I returned was a suit, just less than AU$1,000 and no issues with duty.

Be careful though, I am not sure if you could get back the duty you paid if you have to return an item (which its value exceeds AU$1,000).

Hope I will get back the refund they promised.

Hey.. thanks for the tip. I am still in doubt because I am buying something above 1k so.. not sure.

Thanks anyway..!!

Just a quick update: This morning I saw the credit Farfetch promised. They sent me an email on Saturday (Sydney time) promising to credit my account. The credit I saw today has Monday's date. They seem to have credited the correct amount (I can only see the AU$ equivalent).

Keren - I am not sure the reason you are in doubt (your item is subject to duty). Are you concerned about duty if you have to return an item? I would pick up the phone and call customes; ask them if you can get back the duty. I remeber the DHL guy who picked up my return item said it would be difficult to get it back. I don't know what he meant and I didn't ask him as that didn't apply to me (If they ship via DHL, duty would be done on your behalf by DHL). If you are not concerned about returning an item then add 15.5% duty and compare the price to what we pay here. We pay GST here anyway....If the price is close to the $1,000 threshold ask them if they can reduce it. They reduced mine by $9 when I asked. Remeber the cost includes shipping.....Good luck

I recently purchased from farfetch.com, but was leery because of the negative reviews.

I got some Guiseppe Zanotti fishbone flats that were sold out in my size everywhere else.

To be honest, I never had to deal with customer service, and I only paid 20$ more for shipping, bringing the total to around $840.. that price included customs fees. (Shipped from France To California)

The shoes arrived well-packaged, sign on delivery from DHL about three days later. The shoes were in new condition, (the shoebox had a slight smudge) authentic, and I didnt have a problem. I was never asked for a drivers licensee or anything else.

I was happy, and I dont see an objection to buying again... However I'm still a bit put-off by what I've heard about customer service!

I've attached a photo of the beauties!! :roflmfao:

I had a very positive experience buying a BV tote. I received the item within four days of placing the order and the price was really air, duties were included, and the bag was well packaged and clea and unused. I would definitely buy there again.

Order a Givenchy Pandora from a BABYLON BUS WOMEN in Italy and took about 5 days from placing the order to receive the bag. They asked for CC verification which probably explains some of the delay. The customer service replied within 24 hrs of my emails. Really really nice packaging (they wrapped it up in tissue paper and with a ribbon and a tissue bow) and gave me an extra dustbag. perfect condition! No fees from DHL.
