Anyone else feel somewhat embarrassed about LV?

I don’t feel embarrassed using my bags.
I don’t care what others think. I love them and my fiancé doesn’t care. He always says ‘ as long as you carry a real bag , carry what you want’.
I don’t carry my LV to work but that’s for two reasons
1.I don’t change my bag for work and will use to death.
2. I associated my LV bags with being off work and have fun using them all.
We buy these bags to enjoy them , no one should make you feel embarrassed about anything.

I got a Speedy 30 in MN bought in 2013 and it just sits in mywardrobe completely unused, I never take it out as I am worried how people will presume it’s fake etc..
My clothes are not designer- I am not into designer clothes really at all.
I usually wear Topshop, Superdry, A&F clothing.
I live in a nice area but I still worry.
About 8 years ago I owned LV Large Noe in MN and I used it all the time, and I was living in a horrible chav council area ( in privately owned house)
Since that we sold our property and the Noe and moved into lovely area but now I feel not great about using my Speedy bag outside. It just feels not right for some reason.
Anytime I spot someone with Speedy, I think Oh I must use it, looks so cool, but then I never do.
Today, believe it or not, LV Speedy isn’t considered that costly or exclusive of a bag. There are so many more expensive ones carried all over the place from Gucci, Prada Chanel, Hermès and LV as well. I wouldn’t worry about it and just use and enjoy!

I am not embarrassed to carry but have decided not to carry it for travel any longer. I have outgrown my Milla pochette for travel. I am traveling in countries now where I really need to follow the laws (like carrying my passport at all times). And my passport doesn't quite fit right in the Milla pochette. I also got bored and sold my DE pochette accessories. I decided not to replace either little travel bag with LV. It's probably not the best idea to be in strange places with a bag screaming such a recognizable symbol. I purchased a basic, black, nylon PRADA bag. The name is so tiny and it can also be worn in away where you can't even see the logo. It doesn't draw any attention. I don't want any LV attention when I am traveling.

I’m not embarassed to carry LV. I still to this day get excited when someone compliments my bag. I’m like, I found my people. I’m in a major city so LV is quite common. Not that everyone has one but people see them often enough that it’s not an OMFG big deal.

When I travel to more rural areas, they usually don’t know what my bag is and it’s not like I walk around holding it in a way to show it off.

If someone is hell bent on mugging me for my bag, I have no issue telling them it’s a good fake and handing it over.

If you’re going to save your LVs for special occasions, then it makes more sense to only invest in evening bags. Don’t waste your money on a day bag and then not use it!

Also heard in some countries where strict laws are implemented, they fine/confiscate bags they suspect are fake. I'm not carrying receipts everywhere I go! Based on my knowledge most people can't tell the difference between real and fake! Even people that work for the brands get their $#!+ all mixed up let alone an authority figure! So better to be safe than sorry.

Good idea. I think I need to take a screen shot of my LV account (where it says Welcome Ms Lemon Drop) and maybe some receipt pics. I have been traveling a lot to Beijing. All my co workers talk about is going to the Pearl Market. They shop there like it's Christmas. I guarantee I am the only one coming back through US customs with real LV anything and I am an addict. I usually have about 5-6 LV SLGs with me when I travel. I don't want to be caught up in that mess when my co workers go down. Granted all my items have stuff in them and are being used. But I don't think that matters if customs thinks they're fakes. :hrmm: I could just see myself trying to explain, NO!!! I have 5 LV items because I am an addict !!!

When I moved from the city to little home town in 2016 I was shy about flaunting my handbags, even though in reality, on this forum anyway, they would not be a big deal. But when I went ahead anyways and took some hits, I uncovered a whole undercurrent of high-end fashion conscious locals that are keeping my favorite consignment boutique here hopping with high end consignment goods disappearing off of the shelves. Use the law of attraction to bring out the fashionistas where you live - wear your goods. They aren't called goods for nothing.

I am never embarrassed about carrying my LV, but I am very conscious of the situations where I would/would not carry.

Definitely not at work because it is a very casual environment and it would look out of place. No one carries designer bags and I wouldn’t want to stick out because of my bag.

I also don’t like to carry any LV purses when I travel, because I’ll be in a foreign place and don’t want to worry about my purse on top of other things. I’d definitely be wary about international travel, but when the time comes I’ll have a copy of my receipt in case. Never thought I’d have to think about carrying proof that something I own is authentic!
