Anyone else feel somewhat embarrassed about LV?

No. I've started to carry my LV to the park when I'm walking my dog. That's what my life has become, so I'll bloody well enjoy my items when and where I can! :giggle:

Carrying them at work is a different story, though. I previously used DE or DG bags at work, but I recently started a new job and I no longer feel it's appropriate to use my LVs at work. I now use either a Coach messenger or a discreet plain leather bag. That's personal preference for me now. You should use your bags wherever you like and enjoy them to the fullest!

I suppose it depends on the area you live in and your work environment.

LV is considered pretty standard workhorse bags (errands/grocery shopping, etc.) in my area so no one really bats an eye when they see one. (maybe I'll see a limited edition or a personalized painted one and be like: ooo, cute!)

My work environment is healthcare and LV, gucci, burberry are all scattered around. No on really cares too much.
They may start becoming judgmental if someone brings a Chanel or H bag, just because our workplace is about caring for others, not exactly about what we wear.
I believe that in the art/design industry wearing luxury, especially LV, is well accepted but that's what I've heard, not from experience.

Overall, for general use, the older I get the less I care.
However, I do care about being safe and lowering my chances of getting robbed in public. The most logo things I have are the Chanel CC or the YSL logo on a bag and I keep in mind where I'm going when I carry them.
Work, like others have said, is more of an exception. I don't mind carrying luxury bags, but I have a no-logo rule for myself, just to keep it more professional and less fashionable I suppose.

Not sure if it helps but you are certainly not alone. As someone who is painfully cheap (sometimes) I have LOVED buying and selling on re-sale platforms.

In the event that I get a nosy relative who says something or spot a coworker looking at my bag I will straight up tell them where I got it (MyMarkit.com is currently my favorite) and remark on what a good deal it was.

This usually has 1 of 2 effects: they realize that they too can have nice things and you convert someone to luxury fashion, or, they chill out. Either way, you win.

I've read many threads like this and always find it interesting that the root of the question seems to really center around guilt. Am I embarrassed about my LV’s? That's a hard no. Do I wish I hadn't spent so much money on my LV’s? Definitely. Do I regret my purchases? No, but if I ever did, I'd sell them. Are there places where I feel uncomfortable wearing them? Sometimes, but only if I don't want to feel like a target (it pays to be smart regarding your surroundings). Do I worry about what others think? That's a hard no (and that one gets easier and easier with each passing year). :drinks:

I wear uniform to work where we all would carry the same bag. My LVs are only for weekend, day off. I would say I feel a bit embarrassed sometime when I carry my NVF and see another hundred of people carry it. But it’s such a great bag so I learnt to let it go. I also think nobody cares of what others carry anyway.

I agree tho that LV canvas can be little loud, if I can carry my personal bags to work I would choose something discreet like Celine Cabas and Coach.

Honestly, I was a little bit embarrassed at first. I felt like everywhere I went people were staring at me. Then I realized most people are so wrapped up in their own world (rightfully so) that most don’t even notice what kind of bag I’m wearing. If someone judges, then that’s their problem.
You are right! People usually only mind their own business. If we feel embarrassed , then it is own problem

Yes, canvas bags especially monogram canvas are too loud.
I think LV epi bags are very discreet, nobody would notice as well

I'm in the healthcare setting and would LOVE to wear the LV bags I purchase to work or even on an outing but I do feel embarrassed sometimes bc of how people make small comments like 'oh wow, is it real?' or 'oh really? i wish i had as much money as you.'

You have to learn not to care about others opinions! <3

It's stupid, but I'm at a location now where I've been there for about 2 weeks, and will be there through the end of December. I've been using my Speedy since I started at that location, and I just got my Noe back a few days ago from having all of the vachetta replaced. It looks like a brand new bag, and I want to use it so bad but I feel like they'll be judging me for not having one LV, but now two. Forget using my Alma BB lol. Guess I'll wait until I'm at a different office.

I know this is a dumb question considering this is an LV thread, but what I mean is, do you ever feel embarrassed as if you've spent too much money on an LV bag and since it's such a popular luxury brand, people know what the handbag is worth and what you've paid. I have a job where I travel to different offices so I feel that when I use my different LV bags, people are judging me. I feel embarrassed. I know it's stupid, but it's just how I feel. But that also doesn't stop me from using my Louis Vuitton bags either.

What do you guys think?

People really don't care, except for maybe for a jealous person or two. Normal people don't memorize the prices off the LV website.

I also feel like, as women, it's okay if we have nice stuff. It's not like the guys aren't going into the office wearing a $900 suit and a $6K watch or driving a $$$$ car or paying stupid expensive course fees for golf.
