Anyone else feel somewhat embarrassed about LV?

I agree, I’m usually in the Chanel forums but I lurk LV and Hermes and the various non-handbag forums too. I think the LV forum is generally fine but on the rare occasions that I do see snarkiness and drama, I’ve found it’s more often here than in other forums.

I am sooo with you on handling things the British way! A few weeks ago I was on a London bus and a woman came in and asked the driver if the bus goes to a certain place. He was clearly in a bad mood and ignored her question. She said, in a kind tone of voice, “I hope your day improves” and started to walk off. He called her back and apologized and told her where the bus goes. I really loved this interaction, it just goes to show how fighting bitterness with more bitterness isn’t the answer.

We’re talking handbags here people! No need for negative emotions :flowers::flowers::flowers:

OMG! I got teary eyes. I think I will try to say this when people are rude to me. [emoji173]️

Hoping this is not too much of a digression, but I’m less fond of Gucci for this reason because certain customers would wear Gucci caps or LOUD GG belts or those sneakers and looking absolutely horrid, i have no issue with people saving up for designer items but for those that think carrying certain designer items elevate their status, that puts me off.

Why does it bother you? Is their money. People shouldn't be classist. It's not like they're criminals or something. And how do you even know their intention of buying designer stuff. Susan, please....

I'm in the UK we have this amazing science fiction/history series called 'Dr Who' A time traveller from the victorian era , his attire is remmenicent of that period . Especailly when Peter Capaldi played the 12th Doctor, Top hat, waist coat, pocket watch, long black fitted coat. His time machine or refered to as a tardis is a compact telephone/police public booth from the victorian era. His tardis is special in that it's small on the outside but huge inside defies logic with space and dimension. He experiments with time travel and battles his recurring nemesis that threatens the human race. But the theme and costume is distinctively victorian but with science and travel very steam punk. LV luggage would definately not look out of place.
Dr Who is quite popular in the US too!

I don't feel embarrassed at all. But I do know that some people talk about badly about me behind my back for having them. When they see the bag on me, they're like "oh whatever makes you happy. its beautiful." and then I hear from someone else that they said something not to nice like "she's spoiled. She's too young to have a bag that expensive. She doesn't NEED that" (Im 21 yrs old)
No duh, i don't "need" a bag. It's a luxury item. Stop stating the obvious.
I wish when i was ‘too young’ that i had bought a real louis instead of the ‘good’ fake my boyfriend bought me... 27 years later i still use the fake, but only because i haven’t bought the real one yet!!! I finally decided for my 50th bday that I’m buying one!!! It’s from my husband & kids but instead of brand new i really want an older one. Anyway buy it while you can because once you have kids & mortgage at least with me, i keep finding excuses!!! And the thing is, i still want the same one from so many years ago, too!!! I keep thinking how i would have still be using it!!! Oh well, at least when i do buy I’ll have to hand down to my daughter

 and I thought it wasn't a well received British export. Glad it's popular.
I don’t really watch it, but I have countless friends who absolutely love Dr. Who! I think the show has a real cult following here. My favorite British shows are Absolutely Fabulous, Keeping Up Appearances, and Vicar of Dibley. And let’s not forget Cumberbatch’s Sherlock!

Omg bloody hell fire!! you watch Ab Fab, Vicar of Dibley and Keeping up Appearances!! These are like British comedy gold!! I didn't think people would really understand British humour and the quirks we have so wouldn't really watch them or find it weird.
And Benedict in Sherlock series he just steam punk! Vintage history cross with sassy modern edge.. okay you have taste!!

Oh and is so sad we've lost Benedict to the bright lights of Hollywood with Dr Strange. Sherlock no more I guess :crybaby:

Did you ever doubt that? Lol
I started watching Ab Fab in the mid-1990s when it aired on Franco-German channel Arte. I was a teen then and fell in love with Edina and Patsy. The gay kid in me was like: “WOW... this is awesome!!!” :hbeat: British TV has some wonderful gems.
You know i sometimes thought you have a bit of that ' British sense of humour '. Now I know where you get it from...

 your showing our age now. Benny Hill I remember his chasing the ladies antics. Think in today's climate many of the classics would probably be banned today. But it just shows how times have changed we could laugh at ourselves and not take things too literally and seriously.
