Anyone else feel somewhat embarrassed about LV?

That’s the exact reason why I’m super fearful of buying a Chanel flap on the preloved market. We don’t have a strong culture of buying preloved in my country and only one consignment shop that I know of authenticates the items they sell, but their prices are usually very high, so I just don’t find it worth it.

We have a couple of fabulous online consignment shops in the UK where everything is guaranteed authentic. You can often find discontinued styles there and buy safe in the knowledge that you’re not getting a fake. Often the items are new and unused.
I’ve used one of them for years, very happily.

That’s great! I wish we had more options like this in Brazil.

It may just be me, coming new to LV from the English-based Mulberry forum where everyone is invariably polite, considerate of others’ views and happy to offer constructive advice and comments, but I’m picking up a lot of negative vibes from posters on this forum.
To those of us who genuinely want advice, please can we all think before posting uncalled-for, sniping comments?
As we say in the U.K, “If you can’t say something nice, say nothing” - or at least let it be vaguely relevant and constructive ...

It’s not usually like this. This thread is kind of... out of control and flamewar-ish. :(

I agree, I’m usually in the Chanel forums but I lurk LV and Hermes and the various non-handbag forums too. I think the LV forum is generally fine but on the rare occasions that I do see snarkiness and drama, I’ve found it’s more often here than in other forums.

I am sooo with you on handling things the British way! A few weeks ago I was on a London bus and a woman came in and asked the driver if the bus goes to a certain place. He was clearly in a bad mood and ignored her question. She said, in a kind tone of voice, “I hope your day improves” and started to walk off. He called her back and apologized and told her where the bus goes. I really loved this interaction, it just goes to show how fighting bitterness with more bitterness isn’t the answer.

We’re talking handbags here people! No need for negative emotions :flowers::flowers::flowers:

This was, until very recently, my only LV: the Trompe l’Oeil Limited Edition Pochette from 2004 in velvet with leather lining, crystals and alligator trim. A bit “out there”, but I like quirky styles! She’s absolutely gorgeous - any variation in colour is due to lighting and my poor photographic skills! [emoji5]IMG_5302.jpg

I didn’t think of that. I also heard people will list a fake purse on eBay in a real box to name it appear authentic.
I sold my Chanel, LV and Tiffany packaging and paper bags for three digits. I just jam these things behind my bookshelves as soon as I get home every time I buy something, then sell them on eBay at the end of the year. No idea who would want them. I thought it's those neat freaks who like having their bags and jewelry all in bags and cases like making taxidermy. But, yeah, they could be criminals.

This woman walks into an LV boutique. Please note the internet-famous "Can I speak to the manager?" haircut.

"Hi, I would like to purchase a Pochette clés but I would like a dustbag, box, and shopping bag for a Pégase 55. Also, I would like the latest issue of The Book, a plate of Ladurée, and a glass of Champagne. ... You know what'd be great? An extra dustbag for an old Speedy I bought on eBay (which I think LV should repair for free). And please, don't forget to invite me to your LV Holiday Party. One more thing, I feel like I should get a VIP gift. Thanks!"

Here is how the SA should respond:

Oh please. You know very well that she'd be calling it a "key cles".
