Anyone else feel somewhat embarrassed about LV?

Yeah I think my comment came across as confusing. I don’t think she was wealthy but the way she was acting toward the SA was very arrogant and the way she said “I want to show off that I can afford LV”...it was the tone of her voice which I suppose is impossible to convey in text
Hmm that’s weird because you wouldn’t expect someone who is so excited to show off her tiny purchase to be arrogant! But i guess there are all kinds of people in this world

But what I’m getting at is why did she need to ask for a huge bag? You can show off your new purchase in a small bag if you really feel the need to show it off? I don’t know her or her situation so I guess I was wrong for even posting or commenting about the interaction. My apologies again for offending anyone

I reuse old shopping bags sometime so maybe she wanted a big bag for that? Or maybe she wanted everyone at the mall to think she made some huge purchase at lv? Who knows.

Right, good point! I do reuse my shopping bags as well. That is why I apologize for posting my observation without knowing the full extent of her request or situation...

Me too, usually, cause people are crazy! Speaking of crazy some guy followed me home the other day on the one day I happened to not have my gun.
My hubby would have been completely ticked off if I told him someone followed me and my glock was at home. He gives the "TALK". EYEROLL LOL!! I carry everyday, whether on my person or in my truck. My city is dangerous and I refuse to go about in fear. All of my adult kids carry also. The gun range is one of my favorite places lol!! Besides LV of course.

Well, it sounds like the lady specifically said she wanted to show off to the whole mall that she buys LV.
The SA was hacked off because she had to go to more trouble than she thinks the sale of one of the cheapest things you can get from LV is worth.
Tasteless of the SA to make a comment on the floor about it. Tasteless of the customer to state her intention out loud.

But it doesn’t really hurt anyone directly...SA made a sale, LVMH is big enough to hand one social climber some extra bag, and obviously it makes the customer feel better about her life.
LV has been content in the past to encourage people to feel this way. You NEED this logo and NEED others to see it on you.
Sadly the marketers have all succeeded, resulting in a culture of my-logo-cost-a-boodle-here-let-me-stick-it-in-your-face.

Only there are plenty who, well, the only piece of that dream they can afford is a cles. Dress it up so I can play dress up. I’ll wager she brings that bag back to the mall other days and hikes around with it.
It’s a crutch people use to soothe themselves.
Other than that’s incredibly sad, it’s better than many alternatives I guess.
The salesperson could have more training, but man, there’s some at my boutique too. Once in awhile you see one you would assume was placed there by Arnault himself if the size of their attitude is any indication.
Fortunately most are normal, level people and most customers are too. But hey, not everyone.

I don’t know that it’s necessary for anyone to get upset hearing that such things happen.

My mother was the first to scold me, she said I should’ve shown my gun. Hubby was angry he wasn’t there. It was just bizarre, he pulled up parallel to me at the mailboxes and gestured wildly for me to roll down my window and talk to him. I refused and he seemed to get angry. I peeled off not wanting him to know which house was mine, and the kids were in the car with me so I was extra creeped out. Tbh he may have wanted something basic like directions, but I wasn’t taking any chances, like I said, people are crazy!

Everything you said is spot on! It was an unfortunate exchange for both parties.

I’m ok with the recognisable print or people knowing I spent so much on them because, in the end I did spend a lot on my bags and that’s my business not theirs. I have a completely different reason for being embarrassed and it’s with only one bag. My Pochette Metis has the light vachetta on the handle and above the clasp. It’s one of my favourite grab and go bags. Because of a humid/rainy climate and because I wear a lot of hand cream (nightmarishly dry hands), over time, the vachetta darkened quite a bit. I don’t mind this one and actually like it but other LV owners (friends and even strangers sometimes) give my bag this “look”. Like: what have you done to it? Or what’s wrong with it? That makes me really self conscious.

Why don’t you have the vacetta replaced? Then go back with a cover for the rain. Yes it adds character but something we learn our lesson and need to start over.

If all he wants is directions, it’s a glass window, not a bank vault door. He rolls down his, and then you could hear each other fine through your own car window.
A normal man will understand why a woman might feel apprehensive.
Anyone who acts offended is either not firing on all cylinders or up to something. Pretending to be insulted, hoping you feel bad and comply.
A decent man will get that a woman will feel uncomfortable giving directions/giving a ride/etc to a man if she is alone (kids don’t count as protection). No reason a man can’t find another dude to get assistance from.
Most women do feel bad about it. Your social conditioning inclines you to be ‘nice’ and ‘helpful’. Predators use that.
I’m not sure what his game could have been if you were both in cars. If he were going to point a gun, car windows aren’t bulletproof. He can’t grab you or the wheel from his car. It’s possible there was a third person nearby. Or he was just a self-absorbed nutball.

You STILL don’t need to get into any scenario with a regular old nutball.

I was so mega embarrassed when I was flagged by border control at Heathrow airport baggage area. Before boarding the plane. The X ray machine had picked up a small deodorant bottle in my hardcase luggage. They wanted to check what it was.
My cabin luggage had 3 Louis bags all in their dustbags and packed out with air bags and my LV wallet was also in its dustbag. This luggage only had Louis bags inside. Like i didnt want to put in checked luggage just in case it gets lost. The security guy opened my case up. I was like oh crap!. I think he wanted to burst out in histerics but kept it in :-s. My dustbag's were all lined up like I got OCD with LV logo all facing the same way. I was going bright red at this point. He had to take my bags out of dustbag one by one and all the air bags too until he found the small bottle of deodorant. I had forgotten i left it in the Favourite MM bag.. Meanwhile there's people looking at me. I'm just wanting the earth to swallow me up. And the hubby is laughing his head off. I already had to be frisked because the machine bleeped because I forgot to take my watch off. So so embarassing

Yes, but no doubt you check your luggage like a drug sniffing dog now and it will never happen again!!

My oldest had an incident like that last summer as she was leaving the mall. He followed her from the exit doors. Mistake. He's banging on her car window like a lunatic and she shows him her gun. He ran off lol!! She wasn't afraid but said she knew she needed to get to her car quickly and lock the doors because she could clearly see him following her in her peripheral as she zig zagged through the cars. She had keys in one hand and gun pulled halfway from the holster. I never worry about her, she's a tough cookie lol!
