Sounds a little scary...call and speak to a supervisor maybe you can have your information removed. Until then...Just monitor your card transactions.

I am more peeved about their return policy: it takes FOREVER for the SA at Store X to call Sac, get the manager on the phone, explain it, etc.
And yes, I have voiced my opinion to the Sac manager
It's Nordstrom: to sell an item that can only be "credited" through one store, is just ridiculous, IMHO.
I have bought all of my Bals from Barbara at Arden Fair and I know she has two of my Credit Cards on file. But I think they are in a computer, not in a roladex. I think the return policy is bogus. I think if I took the bag to my local Nordstrom that they would have no problem returning it since it has the little bar codey thing on the back of the tag. But I always call for DHL pick up if I do return something. I don't want to piss off the system. You can't beat Nordies return policy which is why they will continue to have my business.
While the "calling Arden Fair" policy can be frustrating, I think it's necessary to avoid the return of fake B-bags at other stores where SAs are not familiar with the bags. Unfortunately, there are unscrupulous people out there who are far too eager to take advantage of the system. After being presented with a fake B-bag pulled from the back at Neimans a couple of years ago I feel like stores need to take every precaution to protect us from the fakes and scammers.
Nordstrom has the same policy for Chanel bags--they have to contact a store that carries Chanel and process the return through that store. A hassle? Yes, but I feel a lot safer buying through Nordstrom due to this policy.
The thing that is disturbing is the "rolodex" - is that thing kept under lock and key at all times except when they are actively using it?
BalNY SAs also keep credit cards "on file" - because I know that my SA has mine. Not sure how they store the info.
Keeping entire credit card numbers on file is a violation of PCI (Payment Card Industry) Compliance rules. These are rules set by VISA, MasterCard, etc., and they can/will fine any merchant caught violating the rules. It is a substantial fine, $5,000 to $10,000 per month for each month of non-compliance...
