@southernbelle43 @muchstuff I was looking through Deadly Ponies website and was drawn to Mr. Octo, reading through this thread I think both of you ladies have the bag. How do you like it? Is it comfortable and light? Any cons?

Leather quality wise, how does it compare to The Row (muchstuff) and Massaccesi verona (southernbelle)? :P

Please help a girl out :flowers:
It's a good-sized bag and comfortable to carry. The leather isn't like any of my Row bags, it's lightly pebbled and pretty smooshy even brand new. Very nice hand feel, bovine leather, nice and soft. It has a 9" strap drop which I love. It weighs approx. 1 lb 15 oz., which I don't consider heavy personally. I'm guessing it'll get even smooshier once it's broken in. I'm happy with mine, it's kind of a cross between a shoulder bag and a tote. Two decent-sized slip pockets and one zipped, and a clasp so you can do connect the back and front sides together internally. And it looks good cinched or not.

Mr.Octo is extremely comfortable and not too heavy for a bag of its size. With that much leather it does have some weight to it. It does not feel like Verona to me though. Verona feels thicker and more sturdy if that makes sense. I gifted it to a friend’s daughter but have been tempted to buy the smaller one that they designed after I bought mine, of course. The regular was too big for me.
Thank you! This is very helpful. Sorry that it didn’t quite work out for you in the end. I just checked DP website and they don’t seem to have the smaller version in stock at the moment, but hopefully they’ll restock soon!

Thanks for the review and including the weight! Not too heavy at all considering the size and all the leather pleats. Super tempted and hoping for a sale...

Edit: do you find the size a bit overwhelming?

Not at all but I’m the original big bag lady. I can take some mods shots when I get home.
Thanks so much! Really appreciate it. Let me know how tall you are too. I’m petite... 5’3 max. While I’m always game for a slouchy puddle of leather hobo, I don’t want to appear as if the bag is so big that it’s wearing me instead of the other way around:giggle:

Having terrible experiences with the last three bags I have ordered, I decided to go back to the brands I know are excellent. I have been eying this Deadly Ponies bag for more than a year, so I hit “add to cart.” Plus I love bulle leather.

Looking forward to seeing it! Their bulle leather is quite unique.

My DP bag arrived three days early....from Australia to the central US in less than 48 hrs. How does DHL do that?

I tend to forget how absolutely scrumptous a Deadly Ponies bag is until I get another one. This bulle lamb, there are not words to describe it. And the solid brass hardware. The comfortable strap. The quality of the bag. I wonder why I keep ordering from other companies and getting disappointed (not Massaccesi of course, he never disappoints).

The Deadly Ponies Mr. Cayman Twist in black bulle lamb. It is a rich deep black which the camera always fades out and these were taken at night. The side view is to show the solid brass hardware better. DPa.jpgDPb.jpg
