Except for shipping costs each way if it doesn’t work out. We’re more expensive than you guys for shipping. I’ll let you know if I decide to go for it!No harm in trying it.
I did not think of that. That could get costly for sure. Our posts made me want to change into my bubble lamb bag. It is really an incredible leather. This bag is really large, but yet lightweight.Except for shipping costs each way if it doesn’t work out. We’re more expensive than you guys for shipping. I’ll let you know if I decide to go for it!
I agree that bulle leather is incredible! @muchstuff, I have a bag from DP in this leather (Mr. Caiman Twist) and the Opelle lotus bag in shrunken lamb. I’ve taken a few pictures of the 2 side by side (DP on the left). I think both bags are of high quality, but if you asked me to pick 1 (and if the bag styles were identical), I’d choose the DP. The DP leather is a bit less textured or “bubbled” looking compared to the Opelle leather (judging solely from the bags I have; I think there may be variations among bags even within the same brand), but DP feels softer and more buttery. I also prefer the DP hardware.I did not think of that. That could get costly for sure. Our posts made me want to change into my bubble lamb bag. It is really an incredible leather. Could you buy the shrunken lamb SLG? That way you can sample the leather at a lower cost.Except for shipping costs each way if it doesn’t work out. We’re more expensive than you guys for shipping. I’ll let you know if I decide to go for it!
Thanks for the comparison pics, what size is your Lotus?I agree that bulle leather is incredible! @muchstuff, I have a bag from DP in this leather (Mr. Caiman Twist) and the Opelle lotus bag in shrunken lamb. To be honest, I had purchased the DP bag first, maybe 3-4 months ago, and was surprised to find that it was a little bit smaller than expected. I loved the leather but did not see any larger bags offered by DP in this leather...I really liked the look and size of the Opelle lotus bag and the fact that the leather was also bulle and sourced from NZ convinced me to pull the trigger and purchase that one, too. I like both bags and have worn them about the same amount of times.
The Cesaire lamb is definitely more subtle in texture. That lamb looks very different from the Opelle bags.
I don't really buy a lot of SLGs, so it would make more sense to risk the shipping cost I think, but I'll take a look!Could you buy the shrunken lamb SLG? That way you can sample the leather at a lower cost.
How has the leather fared? Is it still has soft and matte as when you first got it? Looking at the Lotus in this leather...No doubt DP’s leather FAR exceeds this. Howover, this bag for the price has held up beautifully and is a great work horse bag.
Sure! It’s the regular size (https://opellecreative.com/products/lotus-shrunken-lamb?_pos=3&_sid=ffe6b5ff9&_ss=r).Thanks for the comparison pics, what size is your Lotus?
That's the one I'm looking at. Are the pics of the way the bag hangs accurate on the website?Sure! It’s the regular size (https://opellecreative.com/products/lotus-shrunken-lamb?_pos=3&_sid=ffe6b5ff9&_ss=r).
I think it looks most like the second picture, on the model. If you’d like, I can try to take mod shots for you later tonight. Just let me know. That's the one I'm looking at. Are the pics of the way the bag hangs accurate on the website?
It really is. I wonder if bubble lamb is different from shrunken lamb. I remember googling bubble lamb after I bought this bag ( from another member here) and I think it said this was a French technique...nope it is the same. Just looked it up again. The Cesaire lamb is definitely more subtle in texture.
Thanks, that would be great. Just a shoulder shot would be what I need. May I ask how tall you are as well?I think it looks most like the second picture, on the model. If you’d like, I can try to take mod shots for you later tonight. Just let me know.
