Any guesses or speculation for Hedi’s 1st collection?

I just came back from my local Celine store and have to say that the Triomphe is definitely very beautiful. My favourite model has always been the Classic and visited the store to check if they had it in Amazone colour. The SA also showed me the Amazone Triomphe and surprisingly the colour seems to be more beautiful and rich on Triomphe's shiny calfskin (at least to me). Now I am really torn between the two models, because as much as I love the simple and subtle design of the Classic bag, I just can't get over how gorgeous the shade of green is on Triomphe. Though, I have to say that I am not a big fan of the new shiny clasp.
Also, I noticed that the SA was trying very hard to persuade me to choose the Triomphe over the Classic. He told me that many customers have bought the Triomphe already and it's going to be their most popular bag soon, as they predict (however, I'm not sure how true it is, as I mostly hear negative comments about new bags by Slimane everywhere).

Interesting (tho not surprisingly) to hear how the SA was pushing for the Triomphe. I’ve seen vintage Celine bag that looks just like the Triomphe (or it should be the other way around!). I can see the Triomphe doing better than most of his designs, but I’m not sure if it will become more popular that the box bag...

I wouldn't be surprised if Celine offers SA's a higher commission on Hedi designs to help nudge sales of his designs

Has anyone seen the new nano bucket bag introduced by Hedi? It’s a smaller version of the big bag bucket. Saw it in the Celine store recently. It has a shoulder strap and can also be hand held. So cute. I’m tempted!

https://www.thecut.com/2018/11/celine-triomphe-bag-review.html A humorous article about Triomphe bag (which I slowly start to appreciate).
Btw, my mother who loved Philo's Ready-to-Wear, but was never really huge fan of her handbags, told me that she actually prefers purses designed by Slimane (excluding the quilted bags, of course). She's the first and only person who has told me this.

Has not even one person on this forum bought a Hedi bag to this day?!

All I've seen is some people saying that they quite like one or two designs, etc, but not yet anything about anyone buying. I could have missed it ofc, but I wouldn't be too surprised if that's the reality either.

Anyway, I hope eventual Hedi fans (or one particular bag from Hedi's collection-fans) are not less keen to post because of all the negativity around Hedi and the new designs...

I hope so. But I don’t think about buying his bag, just yet. The triomphe maybe the only bag I consider. But not much enough to make me part with that much money yet.

I’ve looked at the new styles and they just do nothing for me so I’m focusing on enjoying what I have which is a blessing in disguise as I wasn’t using everything.

My SA said that the Hedi “hate” has abated and some customers are coming round, particularly to the styles worn by celebrities.

Sometimes I think I like a brand when in reality I simply like a certain designer. It’s Phoebe for me all the way and I would love it if she brought out her own brand. However I do have an SL bag and am considering another so I must like something in Hedi. Perhaps he just needs to find some common ground to appease clients old and new.

I'm waiting for the Triomphe bag in black to arrive to the only store that sells Celine where I live. I love the 'Blazon Chaine' logo! I have a vintage Celine necklace that has the same logo plus I like history and architecture so the fact that this logo can also be found/ was inspired by the iron chain that goes around the Arc de Triomphe in Paris (hence the name of the bag obviously:biggrin:).

The store here also had knitwear from Phoebes last collection and she even had used the Blazon Chaine logo in them (it was really small applique embroidery in the side of the knitwear), so I feel it's a true classic vintage Celine and even though my aesthetic with Hedi don't match otherwise this bag from his collection is:flowers:

SAs keep saying that more and more people start buying Hedi's bags, that soon they'll be very popular, and etc., but personally I think that the new bags are not doing as good as expected. I live in the city where designer handbags are pretty common. Every day I see a lot of women carrying designer purses, including Celine - luggage totes are very popular among local ladies and I see many tourists with classic box and belt bags. It's been almost a month since the new bags are available, however, I've not seen them outside of the boutique even once. In this period I also travelled to Amsterdam and Paris and couldn't see anyone carrying Hedi's bags there.
It's obvious, from Hedi's ready-to-wear collection, that the targeted customers of the new Celine are women in their 20s who are channeling rock n roll chic look of celebrities like Kate Moss or Lou Doillon. But when it comes to handbags, I think these women have less expensive options like Saint Laurent or Balenciaga - the price difference between their and Celine bags is significant, especially for younger customers.
On the other hand, some of the clients of Phoebe's Celine like the new models, but don't know whether they'll become classics like luggage and box did, so they are not decisive about spending more than $3000 on the "potentially" good investments.
I am not an Hedi hater; in fact, to me he still is one of the most talented people in the industry and despite not being a big fan of his first collection, I don't think he deserved such harsh criticism, but I doubt he will be as successful at Celine as he was at Saint Laurent. It was probably very easy for him to replace Stefano Pilati, but Phoebe was the one who changed the game in the industry. Therefore I think it will be very difficult even for Slimane to repeat his "sales miracle" at Celine.

I would hesitate to even called the Triomphe a new design. It basically is the Box with the triomphe clasp which Philo never resurrected because it was probably to baroque for her. I have a couple of vintage Celine items with the triomphe emblem, and I like it. The bag is nice but certainly not ground breaking. I guess they will use this bag to test how well the logo clasp does and, if it catches, start placing it everywhere, which is a handy quick and dirty trick to boost sales.
