Rebecca Minkoff. I reeeally liked her bags a couple of years ago and bought way too many, due to the "bargains" I got at TJ Maxx, Nordstrom Rack, and the RM website. I have sold most of them- still have a mini MAC, Hudson and MAM, but will likely sell them too. They seem too trendy/young for me, and some of mine had quality issues. I am finally learning that what seems like a bargain usually isn't.

As much as i adore Chanel and i do do do! I think they are stupidly exy! I am all for paying for qualify but I have 2 wallets which have had the zips break - one twice! I'm not hard on my stuff i promise!
Anyone else had this happen? I do have a handbag too but i don't use that too often so that's aok.

As much as I love Tory Burch, I must say that her quality is lacking while the prices keep rising. I own multiple TBs ranging from wallets/purses/accessories to shoes. I would say her shoes are decent quality but her leather handbags have poor craftsmanship and fall apart after a year of use or so.

+1

Hermes bags just seem so ostentatious to me these days, rather than refined or elegant. Perhaps I've just seen too many pics of young newbies collecting tacky, neon-bright Bs. Plus the Kardashians, oye. Too much exposure. Too much air of desperation in the acquisition among non-celebs. I've owned and resold 10+ H bags but I'm way over it. Those high prices aren't worth the payoff to me anymore. Putting my money into jewelry.

While the H subforum is a turn off for me (I rarely visit it) - that mood of either desperation or giddiness, then the inevitable spree purchases (multiple coloways of shawls, CDCs, etc), useless purchases before reason sets in, it's the same old cycle - it's not the main reason for my growing indifference to H bags. I just think I have enough and more isn't going to make me happier.

I think all the new styles coming out that aren't as well made (I want leather lining in bags, damn it!) in what seems like a basic money grab (petit H, anyone?) is actually a bigger turn off.

As for the Kardashian effect or backlash, I am neutral mostly because my favorite H bag is the Plume and I don't think they'll take up such a plain, anonymous looking bag :-D

Omg it's nice to know I'm not the only one that feels this way. I'm glad I never ended up sinking a bunch of money into H .

Prada - had my eye on the Saffiano tote since it came out, but being abroad at the time, had no access to an actual store to see it in person. By the time I was back in the States the prices had gone up and quality seems to have gone down.

Even seeing them in stores nowadays just looks kinda unimpressive imho

I used to be into the Celine mini luggage but after a while it just seemed too trendy (especially the two-colored ones) and like a very NOW kind of bag - not a classic. Glad I didn't invest in one as I actually find it a bit... wouldn't say ugly but just unappealing. I still like most of the other Celine bags though.

Also falling out of love with Miu Miu. Sold my only Miu Miu bag, as I found it too 'cute' for my style.

On the other hand I've just fallen IN love with Proenza Schouler. Late to the party ;)

Same here! I've consigned all my RM bags save for one workhorse bag and even then, I considered selling her more than once. I kept the winter grey MAM. Oh and I forgot...black MAC with blue zipper track...yes, must keep that one :)
