I really hate to put this in print because people say never say never but here goes..... Chanel bags. Big sigh. I was in Las Vegas over the Labor day weekend - they were everywhere...I would conservatively say 80% of the woman I saw were carrying a Chanel bag and most of those were black lambskin classic flaps. The rest - LVs. It didn't matter what the age of the woman carrying it - young clubbers, WOACA ( women of a certain age). Big sigh.....

Yes, those two brands are coveted by many. Visualizing your experience made me laugh. I agree with avoid saying never. Hey, today it was your viewpoint while tomorrow is a new day.

I know this is hard coz they might make a new collection that I will dive right in to it:-) lol
3 years ago I purchased my first Michael Kors Hamilton Satchel and I did fall in love specially the soft leather and after that I did purchased a crossbody bag and their flat shoe and I was so happy with all my mini purchased with MK I think It's a great brand and budget friendly also I have their accesories watch and a bracelet...Last year when I was looking at their magazine that they send me every season I was browsing at the magazine and I was so disapointed coz most of their bags are copied to all the major brand. I felt like the originality was gone and that was the day that I stop thinking my next purchase to this brand.

Hi SweetDaisy, so glad I could describe it well enough to make you smile.:smile1: I am still over Chanel bags (not RTW) and I have started a pile of bags to sell. The image from Vegas is seared in to my head - it might as well have have been a grocery bag as many of them as there were.

Not really sure where I will go from here but it will be with bags that have beautiful leather with no logos screaming "look at me I'm a Chanel, Gucci, LV, whatever....." so done.........

LV mono bags. A few years ago I would have scrambled to get one, esp brand new.. now I'm over it, only into leather. Funny thing is, I see canvas bags on other people and think it looks great on them, and that makes me want it, but it doesn't suit me somehow.
Marc by Marc Jacobs. They are nice but not worth what they cost. Returned or gave away all of them.
Coach outlet has ruined Coach for me ( and , I expect a whole lot of other people). Just cheapens it. I'm not paying $300+ if they're selling it at the outlet for $100
Prada. Used to lust after them but they are so boring! Same design in different colors, exorbitant price tag, really nothing special. I'm not so into it that I'm going to pay over 2K for a plain leather tote with the logo on it.

I agree on Prada. I still have one tiny Tessuto pochette that was a gift from my mom but I sold the rest of my Pradas. I'm just not a Prada person! It looks good on others though.

Definitely Coach. I sent a bag in to Coach repairs in July because the turn key spring was getting loose, and only just got it back today, unrepaired. When I called after a month, they said they'd thrown the bag out (it was a gift that had sentimental value) because it was unfixable (it wasn't even broken) and had sent me a merchandise credit (which I never received). I then spent over 2 months calling every day to politely try to get them to send the bag back, and was repeatedly told that I'd be called back, emailed with a tracking code, etc., but never was. Never sending anything in to Coach again, let alone buying from them (they sent me a coupon to try to appease me so I stopped into a store, and everything looks so cheap these days!)- by far the worst customer service experience I've ever had.

I know what you meant

Chanel is everywhere in NYC around 5th Ave and in Vegas

But I think LV is even worse.....I don't carry mine anymore 🙈

Dooney and Bourke. I was on a huge vintage Dooney kick right before joining TPF - bought like 5 bags within a month!- but since then my style has evolved to be a bit more structured and less "brown." A quirky 30-year-old bag suddenly seems that much less cool.

Burberry. Is it just me, or is the cachet of this brand slipping? Like it's now been diluted enough by the logo-blinged RTW and ubiquitous fake scarves and really weird neon-yellow phase that a Burberry trench is no longer quite the epitome of classic style that it used to be. This was my first "premier designer" brand and I'm quite sad to think this way about it... but I probably won't buy more from them in the future.

Prada. Same thing -- the stories I hear about the failings of saffiano tote quality, along with seeing the little logo plate on all kinds of terrible fakes (my landlady has one... I don't have the heart to tell her I know) -- I used to covet a saffiano wallet, but no longer.

I don't hate any of these brands and I might buy from them later! Certainly I like them better than other premier designers who I just don't have an opinion about. But my love is diminishing.

Offhand have you tried Linea Pelle leathers? Oh my. Such wonderful soft leather.

For me I have fallen out of love with Coach. It was the brand I started with and now I am just over it. For so many reasons. MK is another brand I have fallen out of love with as well. I had a few and sold them all. With LV I have a love hate relationship I think. I really like them and they are so pretty. Once I do acquire them it either "feels wrong" to me or just is. It a right fit. The sizing is not good for me and it always seems like a lot of money for so little. I don't know.

Lately I have been loving LongChamp and eying MZ wallace. Lusting over some LP leathers as well.

I'm over Coach. For a couple of years now I've just not been interested in their designs, and where have all the cute fobs gone?

The final straw was the Peanuts debacle. That launch should be highlighted in schools as "what not to do". If they deliver a Taxi Tote 28 to me, I'l forgive them. Otherwise we've broken up.

Rebecca Minkoff, Tory Burch and Michael Kors could fall off the face of the earth and I'd be really happy. For me the thing that ruins it is all the young teenagers sporting the brand wether in shoes or clothes, and all of a sudden its everywhere-which means I want to wear it nowhere. I see these brands stocked at the Rack which makes me like it even less-because I know it's made to sell there. I don't consider the brands quality or cutting edge design. MK is such a copycat and I have no respect for that.
