Update:

Enough evidence has been found to say that the above serial number is ALWAYS FAKE, no exceptions. Not only was the N plant in the US apparently opened only for a very brief time if it was ever opened here at all, but it had apparently closed by the end of 1994 No GENUINE Coach handbag has ever been found with that style number. And EVERY bag we've found that number in not only has serious production mistakes and date irregularities, but so far the creed seems to always have "SCRTCHES" misspelled.

Need help authenticate these two coaches

Dont know if real
Both are fake. (Your question was answered on the ebay fashion board and since the listings showed the creeds and more details than these two pictures, they were confirmed as fake.)

While I know there are PF'ers who don't agree with showing detailed pictures because they (IMO) mistakenly believe that showing what an authentic item looks like helps the counterfeiters to make a better fake.

OTOH, I'm of the belief that if the counterfeiters really want to make a AAA or 5-star fake, it's relatively cheap for them to an authentic item replicate it by the thousands, repaying for their investment many times.

Thus, I'll post a comparison of one of the closest fakes I've seen in a while.

Earlier this evening, I posted a fake Coach wallet on the hall of shame.

This was my Hall of Shame post for an extremely close fake:

Coincidently, several hours later, I found a listing for an authentic version of the same wallet.

The purpose of this post is to demonstrate precisely why we advise buyers to be especially careful when buying certain styles of items and recommend that if considering a wallet purchase from the secondary market, please have that item looked at by experts.

In the pictures below, the fake is on the left and the authentic version is on the right.

While fake Coach keychains are pretty common, there are some styles that have been well-faked.

Beware when buying (what appears to be) style 92361 Peace love happy fob. There are some fairly close and different versions of the fake and without close inspection, it can be easily mistaken as authentic.

Here are two different fakes with a side by side comp to a genuine one:

I've been looking at some of the older bags that were made in Italy-- specifically, the Coach Madison Gracie. Should the creed on an Italian bag always indicate that the bag was "Made in Italy"? I found many listings of the Gracie on Ebay where their creeds do not state, "Made in Italy." I would like to know if that is a sign that those bags are fake.

You should post links to these listings for them to be authenticated. The Madisons were made in Italy but they were made over a number of years. The later ones won't have "made in Italy" at the bottom of the creed but the first line of the creed will state "This is a Coach bag. It was handcrafted in Italy..."

Ooooooh thanks for clarifying! I definitely will post links once I find bags that I want to purchase. I'm just looking around and trying to learn more for now.
