Is there a source to tell when a bag style (i.e., 9929) went into production? I think it was the early 1990s, but would like to be sure
There is no source I know of. You have to collect catalogues and look for the first time you see a style in a catalogue. Sometimes it will be labeled as new. Style 9929 was in a 1993 catalogue but I don't know how much earlier it went into production.

I want to replace a small Coach bag/purse that my wife owned but lost in the late 80's-early 90's. it resembled the current Coach # 17994 in size, but was a little more square (I think). Can anyone tell me the name of that bag so I can find one for her?

There were several small bags similar to that. It could have been a dinky bag (the first picture), shoulder purse 9385 or a pocket purse 9755. The companion flap 9076 is more square, as is the compact pouch 9620 (the last picture). You can check the reference library for more examples: http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-reference-library/post-your-vintage-classic-pieces-here-292004.html

I'm impatiently waiting for my pre-creed watermelon tote to arrive and am trying to solve the mystery of the zipper pull. The seller stated that she thought it had been changed however I'm wondering if / hoping it is the 'paper clip' style zipper pull that is mentioned in the Sac Mag guide to vintage Coach hangtags.
I have been trawling ebay and have come across several other listed bags that have the same style though the 'paper clip' is in different 'positions'. My bag is on the the lower left. I think the 'correct' position of the pull should be as in the one on the top right.

Any opinions on this greatly appreciated.

Hi there, does anyone know if the Coach ID wristlets were or are made in Thailand? I don't think any Coach products are made in Thailand.

Thanks.

I'm not sure about wristlets though, most items from the Thai plants were travel or business bags although they did make some handbags that were satchel and carryall styles. Can you post a photo?

Thanks whateve. I am looking at a Helen's legacy and it's an I8P from Costa Rica. It's a great price, but you know those bags can be tricky!
I've never seen a mistake on a P plant creed. The M Costa Rican plant used to make transposition errors. I don't recall ever seeing a fake with a P Costa Rica creed but that doesn't mean they weren't made. There are also a lot more fake duffle sacs than Helen's Legacys. I would take a chance on it if I didn't see anything else obviously fake on it.
