I was definitely not offended.
I was just pointing out that its different for different people. I wear larger earrings because I have a big round face and need something larger near it. Doesn't have to be diamonds. I wear larger gold earrings too--notihng petite because it does not suit me.
But my rings are petite because rings with larger center stones don't look good on my fingers. My biggest diamond in a ring is .65. When I got my earrings, my husband actually gave me money to spend and I could have got a big ring but I didn't want one because it would not suit me, personally. But that's just me. I would never say that no-one should have a ring with a large center stone jsut because I don't like them on me. I like them on other people--and even if I don't, what's the difference if THEY like it?
Honestly, the only time I think someone shouldn't have something is if they a) got it dishonestly or b) foolishly got into debt, especially for something that was not a necessity. If they like it, they can afford it and they paid for it, I think they should enjoy. It might not be stylish to say so in some quarters, but I LIKE living in a capitalist country where you can work hard and get rewarded. From what I have seen (and read) the alternatives are pretty awful.
And by no means do I think earrings under one carat look cheap.I have seen beautiful earrings a great deal under one carat. And something could be beautiful for another reason. The only other pair of diamond earrings I have is .10 cctw and not even very sparkly. But my hubby got them for me when we were first married and that was all he could afford and even though I don't look great in small earrings, believe me, I wore and wore those, and actually, I take out my 1.80's sometimes and I STILL wear them. Had I had to do a trade-in or something like that, I couldnt' have done it.
