Hi,
I have a mid afternoon...here it is.
I like the style: it is perfect with trendy wear and for classic wear.
It is very very spacius because it has three section.
I love love it!!!
You can use on shoulder but only with thin clothes, but on hand is gorgeus!!:yahoo:

I was at Barney's today trying on bags and, while I love the Brief, decided that the narrow opening at the top was a deal-breaker. I have to be able to get into my bags with both arms to access my stuff. And I carry things that would hang up on the Brief when going in or out.

But I put the Brief up against an Afternoon  and - lo and behold! - they're almost the same dimensions, but the Afternoon has a generous top opening with a hanging-over zipper!

So who has or has had an Afternoon? What did you like? What's not to like?

The one I fell in love with was supposedly white, but looked quite creamy next to other white bbags. Is this just an abberration or does your experience tell you that there's lots of variation in whites?

I have a white weekender (just got her last Wedneday!) and she is more of an ivory/creamy white than a bright white. I started going nuts overanalyzing it. Terry at BalNY said (speaking specifically of the "cement" color that my best friend was considering) that there are variations and offered to find one for her that had more tan/cream undertones than grey. I imagine this would apply to other colors as well -- having some level of deviation in the tones. There are no stores in Oklahoma that carry Balenciaga, so I don't often get to compare bags side by side. :(

Just pulled this from another post last week, I LOVE the afternoon:

Well, today I was passing through Seattle (I had two whole hours) and was forced to go to Barney's to look at the Balenciagas.

They had a whole wall full of Bbags and even though I just ordered a Cafe Day from AR, I fell hard for the AFTERNOON in Marron. It's just so much better for my work style. I emptied out my Day right there: my files and books and plane tickets and wallet and Bose headphones and little Marimekko purse with all my lip glosses. My Blackberry and my Mini Compagnon wallet. It all fit PERFECTLY, with two compartments, and two zippered areas for keys and such.

I bought it on the spot and had them send my Cafe home. It's great for work, and yes, it goes over the shoulder. A tad tighter than I would like, but possible.

How tall are you? I'm rather small (5'2") so I'm worried the bag would look too big on me.

And does the bag slouch at all? Its got a more structured shape but I think I would miss the slouch so characteristic of Bbags.

Hi there!
I´m thinking about getting a mid-afternoon bag because I have seen one in a really nice color (blue india). It would be my second BAL. I have a plomb city.
What are your opinions on the mid-afternoon style? Is it an everydaybag? Are the handles long enough to wear it over the shoulder easily (that´s very important to me)? And: is it hard to find things in the bag? It appears quite big to me.
Thanks for helping!

I had one in Blue India and the color and shape are TDF!

However, it was not a shoulder bag for me at all - hand or elbow carry only IMO

It is big but there are two compartments inside - inside is separated - so very easy to organize things

If you're going to use it as a brief case for, it's fantastic.
But otherwise, I find it quite impractical for me. It's too deep to find things easily, and you can't wear it over your shoulder. Just think of it as a big brief case:yes:

If you like the style, why not try Brief? It's a similar style, but less structured, so it'll fit more stuff in it. I'm not sure if you can wear it on your shoulder, though...
