An entire copy-cat line of bags from Rioni

Wow... there are a lot of ignorant comments on here. The fact that someone has the money to drop for an LV does not make them any better of a person than someone who loves the style of LV, but cant afford the hefty price tag, and opts for one of these nice alternatives. I think Rioni is trying to offer a similar LV look to people who can't afford the LV price; it's not like the company is trying to falsely use the LV name or logo.

A lot of people on here sound like rich, spoiled brats from high school. Just sayin'.... :)

Well said!

Sorry if my comment offended anyone I'm not a bag snob...I simply meant I personally would rather get a pre-owned LV than a bag made in a similar style to LV. Not to say Rioni isnt a good brand, I'm sure it is.

Here is my theory on designer inspired bags and their respective companies:

Fashion works like trickle down economics. The premier designers/ high end designers (LV, Hermes, Prada, Gucci, Fendi, etc...) release specific and unique styled bags to the public. These shapes then become iconic (i.e. the LV Neverfull, the Hermes Birkin, the Gucci Sukey,etc..). Other premier designers may draw inspiration from one another (I've seen just about every designers version of the Speedy). These designs/iconic shapes that are released by high end fashion companies then trickle down to more contemporary/lower end designers like Coach, Dooney, and in this particular case, Rioni. Although I particularly don't like the styles of Rioni bags, they are just part of the fashion "trickle down" economy.
Even bags from Walmart or Target imitate the shapes that are released by premier designers. Many people admire designer bags and can't afford to buy them, hence why there is such a market for the trickle down handbags. I'm sure Rioni is just as high quality as Dooney or Coach. They just mimic a different design, that's all (even though they could use more originality IMHO).
It's much better than carrying a fake because it's a legitimate business and I have seen them around and have no issues with them, even though I am totally in love with all my LVs ;)

That is your choice. I would say the Boston bag and the Speedy are very different purses, and you're not likely to like both.

I like the Rioni monogram. I like Damier Ebene too. Can't really see myself with the LV monogram at the moment. I like the quality, prices and look of Rioni. I've also found some purses in the Rioni line that appears to me to be unique and that I like a lot.

It's funny to see posters trying to convince themselves and others that Rioni is a brand and style in it's own right when it's clearly a less expensive copy cat of LV. Deny it all you want but it couldn't be any more obvious.

I didn't say if it's right or wrong , it is just my opinion. I'm glad there legal alternatives to LV if someone likes the style but I think these are a little more blatant than the infamous MK "speedy" and other inspired styles. To each their own :)

Agree!!

At my chiropractor's office last week a lady was leaving while I was waiting and she had a Rioni in the brown monogram. I don't even have my first LV handbag yet - just 2 slgs - so no snobbery here, but I really didn't like it. However, I really like the look of the black Boston bag. For me, the black monogram doesn't compete with LV at all but the brown does. Will I purchase it? Probably not - but maybe. To each his own though - not everything is for everybody!

I have the Tall Tote Shopper in black. It's a unique style (as far as I can tell), it's supposed to handle rain as well as Damier Ebene, but it's also heavy (2 pounds). I've seen other styles on websites other than Overstock (which has a small choice in black signature), so it's possible to find something you like if you look at Google shopping and check the options on the websites to see if they offer black as well as brown.

I agree with the spoiled brats comment. I mean, really ladies, who cares what women carry? Do you look down upon or turn your noses up when you see someone carrying a no name bag from walmart? Or even worse, a brand name that isn't "as good or expensive" as LV?
Who cares. Let's try to remember what is really important in life. =)

This is the PURSE forum so we are talking about purses and our preferences/likes. We are not here to be philosophical about the meaning of life...

Hi! I agree with you 100%. I know the Blessings that I've received in life and I have not always been able to afford LV. Its not to look down on anyone who looks at this bag and finds it attractive, I'm just saying its not attractive to me. Same as the brand Hermes...these are from what I've seen about $10,000 and up. Well I can't see the big must have attraction to this bag. I can not afford to spend that amount of money on a bag and if I could, it's not attractive to me so I wouldn't. (those who love Hermes, no offense). I don't by LV because of the price, I buy it because they produce absolutely gorgeous bags! ;-)
