An entire copy-cat line of bags from Rioni

I agree with the spoiled brats comment. I mean, really ladies, who cares what women carry? Do you look down upon or turn your noses up when you see someone carrying a no name bag from walmart? Or even worse, a brand name that isn't "as good or expensive" as LV?
Who cares. Let's try to remember what is really important in life. =)
If I see a bag from walmart I think nothing of it, if I see Rioni I think "oh there's that copy cat Rioni brand"
I don't look down on the person or turn my nose up at all, but I start to wonder if they got it as a present or if they couldn't afford/didn't want to spend the money on LV. Not trying to be mean or anything, these are just the things I think :D

I am by no means a snob. I too have had to carry bags from Target and Walmart during some point or another in my life (before I could afford LV) however, I don't like when one brand ANY BRAND down right copies another brand...like the Michael Kors bags modeled after Speedies & Neverfulls etc.

Just my opinion.

I just think it's radiculous when a brand blatantly copies another brand. It's not even like its one bag they have an entire line that was made to look like LV. I am by no means a snob I have LV, Fendi, Burberry, and balenciaga. But I also have bags from Old Navy, Aldo, and Express.

If LV is your reference point, then everything that looks like LV but costs less would be assessed from that point of view. It all depends on culture, reference points and attitudes regarding money.

I have friends I've shown my latest Rioni to, and when they hear how much it cost, they get shocked and tell me that they will never buy a purse that's more expensive than.. (usually well under 30 dollars). They think I've lost my mind since I'll blow this much money on a purse - much less several. Their points of view are no less valid for them than mine is for me or yours is for you. My values are such that I'll look for a bargain - I just happen to want a bargain with good quality. The same values made me decide to buy a Coach wristlet I liked at an outlet, although I wouldn't buy it at full price.

I don't think of myself as a bag snob either, even though I've never had to carry bags from walmart, target, kohls, etc :shrugs: I always stop to check them out because I see the trends from high end designers made with cheapo materials and novelty colors, I like to look at them but I would never spend money on that junk, no offense to anyone :D

Michael Kors OTOH has a lot of bags that are good quality and original, they also have different price points for different budgets  but I agree with you that the MK Speedys and NF look very vuittonish... I read on this forum that MK came up with one of those designs first and I don't have any problem with MK at all, I own one MK purse and one wallet, they are both well made with beatiful thick leather and a cool design that's functional for me, plus it doesn't look like a copy of anything.

LV is NOT my reference point at all, LV is the brand that Rioni is copying and this is the LV forum so it's natural we're talking about LV, but I carry bags from different brands and all price points... so NO, not anything that costs less than LV will be assessed from the point of view that Rioni has copied several styles of LV handbags.

I don't know why we have to consider culture, reference points, attitudes regarding money, it all sounds like baloney :roflmfao: today I carried one of my favorite bags and it's a Kipling I found on sale at Macy's and I had coupon, it cost me a few bucks... and my other summer bag is a Kate Spade that was also on sale, I enjoy it as much as my LV's. It's got nothing to do with the price of the bags, really, I saw the Rioni website and saw a copy of Tivoli, Manhattan, speedy, keepall, I don't even remember what else......

Nobody is saying your point of view is less valid, if you like the bags then carry them, no one is trying to stop you.. and I agree that I wouldn't pay full price for some items but if I find them at an outlet I might buy it, we do have something in common, but about Rioni we're gonna have to disagree.:peace:

I find it funny the way some say "I've never HAD to buy from Walmart". Well I CHOOSE to buy from Walmart, target, etc... I buy what I like :)

You must be referring to me since I'm the one who said that, just like you CHOOSE to buy from walmart I also choose not to buy what I don't like. What's so funny about that? :shrugs:

The reason I said I never "HAD to" was in response to another poster who said they had to at some other point, you follow?
