I was watching The View today and they reported that Amanda has been diagnosed with both schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Also that the voices have been annoying her for some time, she has been known to throw towels over radios to keep the voices away. Hopefully meds will help her live a more normal life.

I dont think someone can be diagnosed with both schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. If she had schizophrenia with bipolar like symptoms the diagnose would be Schizoaffective disorder. They must have been discussing the article I saw on Radar which I think came from a BS source.

Yes, probably BS. This was before her Mom came forward and said no info had been given out. I just hope she is getting the help she needs.

AMANDA BYNES I'LL BE HOME FOR CHRISTMAS
EXCLUSIVE

Amanda Bynes will be home in her own bed by Christmas ... TMZ has learned.

Sources connected with her treatment tell TMZ ... Amanda's meds and psychological counseling have sufficiently stabilized her so her doctors will let her leave the Malibu rehab facility where she's been held since September.

As TMZ first reported ... Amanda was released from the UCLA psych ward and went to the rehab facility because the psych ward was freaking her out and preventing her from improving.

Doctors will release Amanda to her mom, who will then take her to the family house and provide supervision. The move will take place sometime next month.

We're told -- aside from the fact that the meds and therapy appear to be working -- doctors are concerned that Amanda is going stir crazy. She's not allowed to go outside because paparazzi are hanging out at the facility and the staff is worried if Amanda is around other patients and pictures are taken, it will compromise the others.

Calls to Amanda's parents' attorney, Tamar Arminak, were not returned.

You can totally be diagnosed with both - this is exactly what happened to Joshua Marks & what led to his suicide

I also know someone personally who is bipolar, who they now suspect may be exhibiting signs of schizophrenia

Didn't her mother recently say not to believe these stories? That there's no one close to the family who would speak out and reveal this stuff?

It makes me so angry that no one is off limits to the paps. She has a huge uphill battle to fight when she gets out and adding the papparazzi to it is only going to make it harder.

Amanda Bynes has been released into the care of her parents it has emerged

She had been getting treated for schizophrenia and bi-polar disorder.
But it has emerged Amanda Bynes has been discharged from her rehabilitation centre in Malibu into the care of her mother this week
The troubled former Nickelodeon favourite had been receiving treatment there for several months before her departure was approved.
The family's attorney Tamar Arminak told People: 'Amanda and her entire family would like to thank everyone who's contacted them with good thoughts and wishes for Amanda's recovery.
'Amanda has completed her inpatient rehabilitation and she's feeling better every day.
The 27-year-old was put on psychiatric hold after she started a fire on a driveway back in July, and was transferred to the The Canyon rehab facility in Malibu, in September after transferring from UCLA hospital.
And the former child star is now looking forward to starting a new life and attending university, while also continuing to be treated.

Mr Arminak said: 'She's now looking at various colleges with the intention of majoring in fashion design. She's mentioned before she's interested in creating a clothing line.

'Despite the fact Amanda is no longer in a facility, her outpatient treatment is continuing. She's very happy to reestablish the loving relationship with her family that she once shared.'
Under the terms of her conservatorship, her mother Lynn will remain in indefinite control over her daughter's well-being and finances.
It was previously reported the She's the Man actress had been allowed to embark on supervised outings twice a week as she has made 'great progress.'

A source at the time said: 'Amanda is being given two passes a week to go the beach, or out to eat and do things like that, accompanied by a professional handler."
She was hospitalised in July following a bizarre incident in which she set fire to a neighbour's driveway in Thousand Oaks, Los Angeles, and accidentally doused herself and her pet pooch in gasoline.
It led to her mother being granted a temporary conservatorship over her daughter's affairs in August.

I hope if she is really suffering from those disorders that she will stay on her meds. That always seems to be the hardest part of schizophrenia. Glad she is going home, I imagine that will only help!

That is the honest truth Buzzy! My BFF's Mom was schizophrenic, but liked taking pills so she was ok. Her ex-sister in law is bipolar, and after at least 25 brushes with the law is in an apartment where she is supervised and has to take her meds. If she doesn't, back to jail.

I have a friend whose cousin was schizophrenic, was on her meds for years, then felt like she didn't need them anymore. Shortly after she went off of them she killed herself. It is my understanding that the meds make them feel "not themselves" so it's a double edged sword. You need them to function like a regular human being but taking them makes you feel crappy.

Sadly that's the case with many people with mental illness. They did a report on 60 Minutes a few months back where an enormous percentage of people who are in jail have mental health issues. Basically, jails are now mental institutions. They spoke with one teenager who took his meds, and while he didn't like how the schizophrenic meds made him feel, he also didn't like being schizophrenic. It was a trade off and he basically made the choice to live medicated and free.
