I bought straps for my DE, and two vernis alma pm's....I like having the strap option...I actually think it looks very nice with the strap on the shoulder....

Here's my epi Alma PM with a 30" strap. First pic is a front view of how I like to position removeable shoulder/ crossbody straps on hand carry bags, second pic is a back view. Third pic is the bag on my shoulder. Please excuse my sloppy clothes; I was relaxing at home watching American football.

Thanks to everyone for replies and pics!I've decided to get the strap.I agree alma in vernis is a fancy bag (plus mine is in griotte), but i'd prefer being less stylish than putting my bag in restroom somewhere while washing hands. I love and actually prefer handheld bags over shoulder or cross body ones, but sometimes I wish they all had additional straps...there were times it was so uncomfortable to use when i had to carry a tray with food, washing my hands, looking at something at stores...so annoying ) so I think I should get it and the option will be there if needed. Its sad that straps are so expensive.((
I'll doI think you're making the right choice! After seeing the other poster's pics with her PM and wearing it, I think it looks great! I was going to say get what you feel you need anyhow, but her picture is convincing that it looks great with the strap. I LOVE the griotte! When it first came out I really debated getting it and then I didn't. Griotte is such a stunning color! Please do a reveal when you get her and with the strap. I agree with the straps being ridiculously high. Can't wait to see your new Alma![]()
I'll dohopefully i will get the strap! the price of it..is just killing me.I think of it as an agenda, pochette, almost pochette NM..
it does a lil bit, lolI think if you use it as a shoulder bag, it's fine - it's how I use all my Almas and straps. What's weird for me is an Alma as a cross-body bag (regardless of whether it's BB or PM etc).
Think of it as adding another dimension/way to carry your bag thus giving you more style and versatility options.....does that ease the price pain?![]()
Just don't think it works aesthetically with a strap, or even practically. It bangs into your side because of the pyramidal shape. Of all the Almas I've had I only bought a strap once, and used it maybe three times.
Saw the Alma PM being used with a shoulder strap recently and (for me) it just didn't look good. It may be more convenient in some situations but it completely takes away the chic and elegance of a beautiful bag. The Alma BB works fine with the shoulder strap because it's also "cute" but, in my opinion, any size above that just doesn't work.
