The TGM is quite heavy and as you can see it tends to hang down at the toggle and on the pinky side of my hand. The 11 link TGM did not hang as much but it did not sit as naturally on the wrist for me. From the third set of photos, you can see that both bracelets end up pretty much at the same place on my forearm when I hold my arm up. From the last set of photos, the size difference is quite noticeable.

I like both because they are for different situations. The GM is more subtle/everyday while the TGM is more bold/special but that's speaking as a man. Women are lucky that they can get away with most anything.

Please let me know if you would like any other photos or measurements. I hope this helps.

Thank you so much for this useful side to side pictures. I'm sure this will be the reference many of us waited for!
I'm trying the TGM 11 soon and hope it will fit.
So funny you say women can get away with anything, I never had this impression myself as we are a constant target of criticism regarding or outfits or general looks and most of us won't look great with pants and shirts every day. But I agree we're lucky to be quite free to pick our fun accessories!

I'm not sure why I didn't think of it before. I tied the bracelet so that it would simulate the 11 link TGM and it is very close to how the 11 link TGM fit on my wrist. The bracelet wears higher up the wrist and I did like the tighter fit. In the first photo, the links sit angled and the bracelet looks really nice. In the second photo, the links sit at zero or 90 degrees. The bracelet looks similar to the Enchaînée cuffs when the links sit like this but the links sitting perpendicular to my wrist stick out and annoy me. In the third photo, the bracelet does not slide down my wrist as much so that's nice.

The dealbreaker for me was that the 11 link TGM would more often sit like it does in the second photo and I don't like that look as much. I don't think you can go wrong either way especially because you like a tighter fitting bracelet. Of course, it's still essential that you try the bracelets on because they fit differently for everyone.

I hope this helps.

I have tried on the TGM 11 link and love it and did not find it too heavy. But i like chunky, heavy and statement jewellery and i like to "feel" my jewellery on as well. Its on my never ending wish list!

I don't find the TGM too heavy either but the weight does make it hang down more compared to a similarly sized GM. I love chunky bracelets as well but I find that it's hard to pull off except within a narrow range of outfits (e.g. rocker or punk look).

Glad to help out. Good luck with the try-out. I think you will love the bracelet no matter if you end up choosing the 11 or 12. I liked the tighter fit of the 11 but I felt the 12 sat more naturally on my wrist. Everyone's different of course and that's what makes this fun. My comment about women able to get away with most anything is in reference to jewellery because jewellery is still not really mainstream for men and daring/statement pieces are rarely seen on the average man.

Sure, that's true. I'm very curious now how i'll like the TGM 11 links. I thought a tight fit on a chunky bracelet will be easier to 'forget' on my wrist as it won't move much. So I might compromise on aesthetics. I'll post a pic.

Do you have a trick for getting the toggle in place? I got extra length but it is still a battle.
I have 2 and I rarely wear them as I can't get the toggle in place.
TIA to all.

Just a FYI to those who have, or want to buy, the CdA bracelet: I bought 2 GMs at different times, one was tighter than the other (one has 12 links and the other 13) well the longer one came undone by itself twice, luckily I was at home, otherwise I would have lost it. So I took it to H and had one link removed. Now they both have 12, and it's never happened again.

I liked the tight fit of the TGM 11 but for my wrist it didn't sit as naturally. Hopefully your wrist won't suffer the same problem. I agree a tighter fitting chunky bracelet may not be as noticeable. I don't mind the looser fit of the 12. If you can try both, please do so to be certain you have the right size. I was intent on the 11 but made sure I tried on the 12 and I ended up liking it more. I can't wait to see how it fits on you.

These instructions are for how I like to wear the bracelet. You kind of reverse the instructions if you prefer the toggle and circle to have the reversed orientation from how I like it (see photos). What I do is drape the bracelet over my horizontal wrist on the side of my wrist bone towards my elbow (the narrowest part of the forearm) with the circle on the side further away from me and the toggle on the side closest to me. In fact you can balance it pretty well with both ends dangling. I take the toggle with my thumb and middle finger and push it partly into the circle. Then I raise my index finger and support the toggle on the part I pushed through the circle while still holding the remaining part of the toggle that I haven't pushed through. I put my ring finger on the end of the toggle to keep the toggle stable on the side that hasn't been pushed through. I move my thumb to the other side of the circle and grasp that part of the toggle with thumb and index finger. I then pull and twist the toggle with those fingers so that the part of the toggle that attaches to the bracelet and the little link between the toggle and first CdA link can fit through the circle and avoid the CdA link attached to the circle. I find that twisting really helps to clear the log jam when pulling the toggle/chain through the circle.

Glad to hear you didn't lose the bracelet. The weakness of the toggle clasp is that if there is too much slack, the toggle can work itself out even for a huge toggle like the TGM. I had it come out once but I was in bed and there was just the right angle with just enough slack. I wouldn't expect it to happen when wearing normally.

I finally got to try the 11 links TGM and it seems to fit just perfectly. The only worry is that the bracelet is a little noisy because of the toggle and clicking of the links. I'll have to see if it bothers me when at work! Perfect sizing found, thanks again!ImageUploadedByPurseForum1474642931.784238.jpgImageUploadedByPurseForum1474642949.752167.jpg

It looks great on you! I'm glad that it seems to sit much more naturally on your wrist than it did on mine. You won't notice the noise after a while. A co-worker of mine is jealous and she says that the "clinking" is like the sound of money. LOL. Congratulations on the fine purchase.

TY, I like the idea of the clinking sound of coins. You might have noticed the bracelet is a bit dull or grey with some signs of use on the toggle of course, it's preloved and i'll have to have it polished or buy it new and resell this one. Do you have any experience with H on this? They might not charge for a simple silver bath but that's not difficult to do at home. A real repolishing might add up much more and a brand new is an option in that case.

I prefer them when they are nice and used and not too shiny any more, but that's just me. When I sent one of mine to H to have the 1 link removed it came back all polished and looking new, but rubbing against my other ones it quickly lost it's shine!

By the way, your TGM is gorgeous, I'll have to get one sooner or later!

You're right the duller one goes better with my steel-gold watch but if I wear it next to my shiny torsade bracelet i prefer the whiter and shinier silver, just so bright. That loss of brillance always disappoints me on WG jewelry .

Pourquoipas, sending congrats on finding your perfect Chaine d'Ancre bracelet! I've never purchased because I've gone back and forth regarding TGM or GM, and number of links! I've appreciated the discussion regarding size and fit. I feel the same regarding sterling silver, I love its warmth, especially when highly polished. I do have some platinum jewelry, which I appreciate for its durability and not needing to be polished, but I prefer the color of sterling silver over both platinum and white gold. And the quality of Hermes silver is so beautiful, too!

Thank you dear étoile de mer, you should try the bracelet on to enable your decision. Plus the good thing about silver is you can go chunkier without going bankrupt [emoji3]

I'm waiting for the day my TGM acquires a full matte finish and then I'll get another new TGM so I can have one shiny and one matte. LOL. Unfortunately, I don't have any experience with refurbishing H silver yet because I've only starting buying over the last couple of years. I wouldn't expect it to be too expensive but I will ask my SA next weekend. I would expect them to be able to make it shine almost like new.

I don't think you can go wrong with either. However, if I could choose only one, then I would choose the TGM. I just find it more special than the GM. I wholeheartedly agree with the love you have for the warmth/colour.
