I was lucky and got mine when they first came out:yahoo:and it really is a unique bag - the cool factor outweighs the weight by a mile! I get compliments every time I wear it.

Did you buy it off Ebay, because the leather should smell like leather. If you did get it from Ebay, you could have gotten a fake, but maybe not. Just don't file a claim with Paypal without talking to the seller first, she may have a receipt or some other proof of authenticity. This is such a new bag, and there are none out there to look at for comparison. Do you have photos you can post so we can take a look?

Bad color choice for this style :push: . I think it would look awesome in a dark brown with the brass studs. I wear a lot of dark browns and reds - especially in winter, and though I have the black one, I really would have preferred a dark brown one.

i just wanted to add my little 2 cents.

the bag is 100% MADE IN CHINA. i remember seeing it on mine too but this is NOTHING to worry about. more and more higher end designers go to china to produce with lower costs but often the same standards as in the west.
proenza schouler is a brand that produces some of their clothes in china and a wellknown shoe designer (which i wont name) ONLY produces in china with leathers sourced in Italy... it is more and more commun.
as for the overall practicality: my opinion is that this bag is pure fashion and NOW and not so much a bag for everyday errands.. although one should carry it with nonchalance..
its a statement bag no matter what so i dont really care much if i have to search for my carkeys or housekeys etc in it. i just like the look of it ;)
if i want practical i carry my PS1!!!

Can you tell us more?! Please, please!

I'm glad to know its as cool in real life as in pictures... and i don't mind the weight at all.

But how about functionality? Is it easy to get into and find your car keys? or does it drive you a bit mad 'use-wise'?

Also do you like the shape of it? I like it slouchy like on MK, but on the runway shot it looks very barrel like.

Should we all plunk down our hard earned $850??!!! Or save it for another bag, another day?!

I only ask because i was OBSESSED with getting a dior gaucho and then i never used it!!! Although i think a duffle bag is better suited to me since i always cart around tons of stuff and the gaucho double flap very much limited what you could toss in your bag :)

are there ever days when you DON"T carry your coco duffle -- and if so how come?

Hi gals!

I do :heart: this bag... Though I don't wear it everyday, I wear do it with everything - even shorts... I have too many bags I love to be manogamous ;) It is a bit heavy, and when I get tired of carrying it, I sling it over my sholder - the straps are long enough for the bag to fit perfectly under my arm. As for my keys, I just put them in the outside pocket, along with my iphone. It would be a bit of a search if they were inside the main part of the bag. One neat feature about this bag is that it looks great whether you carry a little in it, or stuff it full. Mine is slouchy like MK's - I've got a make up bag, brush, small planner, and checkbook sized wallet, and there is still plenty of room to spare. It also will take the rain - I've been caught without an umbrella a couple of times with this baby, and it dried perfectly. The leather is nice and thick, and with that awesome texture, could probably take a good beating and still look showroom beautiful. And you get compliments like crazy!! You can't say that about a whole lot of high priced bags these days. So, I'd say yeah... It is definitely worth the $850

Thanks for sharing Haute, that's good to know. To me, what draws me to buy this bag is mainly the aesthetic part of the design, the brass studs on the bottom is so unique & cool, the leather texture is so awesome. It looks so simple yet so eye catching, I love all my LV Speedys & this is so similar in shape, size & construction. Like the Speedy, I don't mind digging in looking for my keys. I'm buying this bag not because of the Celebrities either. If it was the Blue color w/ silver studs Coco that the celebrities were wearing, I wouldn't make a second look at it. It would have been, just another bag, different but it wouldn't make me really want to even find out who makes it.
This combo, gets me.

oh trust me, i wouldn't buy that hideous blue bag if Daniel Craig was carrying it!!!

i don't buy stuff because a celeb has it (that would be sad) -- but because i've seen pics of someone carrying it (usually a celeb) and it looks great on!!! like ashley tisdale and her prada antik cervo or this alexander wang

but this bag just is so COOL and ROCKSTAR and EDGY -- i love it!!!

ok, i did send the seller on ebay back the bag, she was not too happy. But I was suspic. from the start. I thought the brass bullets were very dull, the leather smelled weird almost a plasticy smell/strong and didnt wear out even when I stuffed it with tissue paper. The markings on the bag were good, but I did find a "made in china" tag on the interior (after turning it almost inside out) cuz I was looking for anything obvious.
What bothers me is that if you look at ioffer.com the fakes listed on website look good....but makes me think that most of the fakes on ebay are from there? I would not buy again off ebay on this bag until there is more to document the authenticity. Markings? telltale signs, zipper imprint etc. we do on BaL bags.
I honestly couldnt wait to get that bag out of my closet...it smelled and made me sick. I fed exp back to owner, and requested a full refund. Of course she denied it being a fake but never offered up proof that it was REAL! It's sicking!

Whats up with people selling fakes! I don't get it. Making soooo much money off of others and then lying about the fact. I hate these games.

i can guarantee you that they are made in china. mine is 100% authentic and made in china.
very VERY often sales people do NOT know what they are selling and since they the majority of shoes and handbags are produced in Italy they just assume that ALL of them are which is far from the truth.
but again i would not worry about that. there is nothing wrong these days with production in china. it is just better for the producer who has a much higher margin on selling it to the retailer ;)

Demi, how does the leather smell? Where did you purchase yours from? DOes it have a black and white tag interior that says "made in china" sewed interior seams?
what fabric is the lining made from interior? The one I had bought from ebayer was very silky lining (felt like silk). The interior seams did not look right either....Sorry to many questions, but maybe we should get some facts about the bags out there to prevent this from happening to others. and warn not to purchase from ebay, unless they are authenticated.
sorry so upset, it just boils me.
