I question the comments of the bag's bad construction and the smell. I can't find any fault in my coco--it's really made well IMO and quite sturdy. The leather smells like good leather-subtle not overpowering. Maybe i just lucked out on a good one!

I had another AW bag from Mick Margo - I returned it because it was too small - but it was made from the same leather and had the same studs as the Coco (which I bought from MM but it's not coming in until November). The leather was wonderful - soft, thick and I loved the texture - I didn't think it smelled like anything but leather, and it wasn't a strong odor at ALL. The brass studs were great - I am glad they aren't shiny - that would make the bag look cheap, in my opinion.
cookielvs!bags5 - it sounds like you didn't buy your Coco from a store - forgive me if I misunderstood, but if you bought it on Ebay, you could have gotten a fake, which would explain some of the problems. Or...it could just be that you don't care for the bag...which is OK too - it happens to all of us!

I checked all over the inside lining and the Alexander Wang tag and I can't find a country of origin tag anywhere. . My bag does not smell bad at all, it doesn't really even have a smell. I can take a shot of my tag if you need to see an authentic one. I bought mine from Aloha Rag. They also attached a store security tag with two signatures of people who checked the bag for flaws, etc.
i was in barneys today looking at the other Alexander Wang bags made from the same leather -- including the vest bag and the large tote without the studs -- the leather was super thick and sturdy and didn't smell badl!! if you bought your bag on ebay i would definitely be suspicious and consider reporting the seller... as you can see on this site, there are some convincing (in photos anyway) knockoffs out there...

I wouldn't report the seller unless you know for sure it is fake and AFTER you ask for a refund......

i had a woman sell me a necklace once that she INSISTED was Miguel Ases and it was so NOT. The seller was a charming con artist and i felt powerless because i don't like to call someone a liar
