I just noticed a small piece of the whale bone exposed on my black rocco after reading this thread. I purchased mine awhile back at one of the on-line sample sales and then carried my bag for about a month straight! The whale bone is black so I didn't notice the tear initially. I used the vinyl liquid and it works! :p You can hardly see the repair but the tear was very small. I can't remember if I saw the suggestion in this thread or another but I'm glad I read the suggestion! I love my Rocco!

Has anyone noticed the problem in other colors? I want a brick or mustard colored Rocco bad!

Ladies definitely moisturize before hand. I wiped down myrocco with water then applied moisturizer, I later notice white powder like forming. So I took a wet towel and wiped it all off clean. Agh I feel the leather isn't doing so well. I don't understand why such an expensive highend bag would have such poor quality leather. Anyone getting the same problems with the leather sort of drying?

Btw thanks ladies! I'm very happy about my repair, pricked my thumb a lot bit it was worth it. Lol

Update
I just conditioned and sprayed my Donna bag last night with the Danier products that I use on my leather jacket. Nothing went wrong and no colour came off!

Just wondering how often one should condition the leather on their bags?

hey there.

would u guys advise to treat my bag with leather conditioner ? or just leave it as it is? im abit worried as my jena seems dry and i have a black baby rocco on its way to me. help please!

i do own a pro-treatment cream

ok guys so i coudnt wait any longer and applied the pro treatement cream to my jena. the jena was looking really dry before and i was really afraid it might crack.

it looks better now. i guess conditioner would not harm the leather but mosturize it? i applied it very slowly and lightly in circular motion with a micro fiber cloth.

i just do not know how often i should do this? as i applied one coat. i did not want to over do it. should i remosturize every three months or so?

Soooo it's June, and I am missing my Rocco (that I had to return because the leather came off the piping after no time at all).

Do you think the patent AW bags suffer the same fate with the edges? I have a hope that they may be more hardy in the patent, but does anyone have experience?

I am :drool: over either a patent brick Diego or a patent black Rocco....

my brick patent rocco is wearing like a champ and i haven't done any treatments to it. i usually wear once or twice a week.

oh except in the beginning, i had a defective one where the seams on the straps were pulling away from the bag but i exchanged it and no further problems..so i'd take caution to the wind if you're buying a used one.

it happens because the corner of the bag was rubbed with the jeans so that it becomes peeled off...my friend's AW rocco bag also been that situation and she was fixing her bag at a repair shop for bag and her AW looks like new again...it costs about $60 :smile1:

I had that same problem with my Rocco..I bought it from Barneys last year and a few months ago is when I noticed the the white piping popping out. Of all of my designer bags I've never encounter a quality issue, i mean that is why I spend the extra money. So, I took my bag back and they gave me a knew one. I definitely suggest you send it back to wherever you got it, and demand a new or fixed bag. For the price we are paying, these bags should last a lifetime.

Hi i'm intending to purchase a new AW bag but after so much research about quality of the bag, i'm a bit hesitant so want to make sure i'm doing it right when it comes to preventing the bag before use...may i know what LMB products that u use before u apply the edge kote? how does the thing wear so far now (you used the edge kote since Jan)? does edge kote really helps to seal the edges in the long run? Thank you so much!

Hi!
I used the botanical moisturizer all over the bag, then the botanical shield, then I lightly brushed on the edge kote. Still looks fabulous!!!
