I wonder, does it happen to to all colors of leather? I mostly read about black roccos... Any of you ever heard of problems with, like, mustard rocco?

This is just an assumption, but just from photos and feel (in-store), the leather on the Luggage and Mustard Roccos seem so much thicker... I wonder if this happens on those colours, too.

I wanted to add a little tidbit to this thread-

I coated my black mesh rocco with black edgekote, and my smoke with neutral. Been carrying them off and on for the past month and have not had any edge issues at all. No flaking, fading, or anything.

I also keep them well moisturized, as I do all my bags. That seems to help IMHO minimize signs of wear.

Hi ladies,

I was wondering if you condition the leather on ur AW bags? If you do how often? and with what type of conditioner?

Also if you have purchased any bags from Nordstrom do you know if they have any services for bags purchased there?

I'm trying to be preventative. :D

I responded to you on the edge problems thread, but I'll add a few things.

I only use LMB products on my bags. I like their botanical moisturizer and shield, color enhance, and FHO (for handles only). I condition once a week since that's when I rotate my bags-I give them a spa day then put them away in their dustbags. :D

I read in a Nordy catalog once that they do offer leather cleaning and/or conditioning services for bags purchased from their store. You should double check with your local SA. Please report back your experience if you use their services.

^^I swear by Lovin My Bags products (LMB)-I use their botanical moisturizer, shield, and color enhance. I also like their handle protectant (for handles only)

This is really interesting Susan - I treated mine thoroughly with LMB products (concentrating particularly on the edges) and it didn't do any good. Maybe I just got a duff batch!

It's the Edgekote that protects the edges from wear http://www.fiebing.com/Edge_Finishes.aspx LMB makes some amazing products (they are all I use too) though I don't think they have anything to prevent corner wear yet. I've got some edgekote and I keep meaning to put it on my corners but haven't gotten to it yet.
