My two cents...

1. Michael Fassbender is NOT obnoxious in my opinion. I know of ALOT of obnoxious actors and Fassbender isn't one of them. Curious, what makes Fassbender obnoxious just because he answers honestly and bluntly? Askars was probably blowing smoke up their arses with his answer (the Hollywood way). So what's the difference ;)

2. FACT: Askars is a champion fence-rider, so if he is dumb enough (IMO) to accept the lead in "50 Shades of Grey" (if it is made into a movie, which can only BE crappy since the book is, again IMO) it wouldn't surprise me in the least.

3. What's with the personal attacks on Forum Posters who are just stating their opinions about Askars? I come on this Forum to discuss Askars and I have to say that that's the one thing about this Forum that irks me. People can't come on here and offer up their opinion without enduring The Inquisition all over again. WTF?! It's like God forbid you don't agree with others about Askars. This is an Askar's Forum so he is to be revered, criticized, praised, dissected, etc. if people want to. I mean GEE-FREAKIN'-WHIZ PEOPLE!!!

I need intoxication! It gets melodramatic.

Have a good time!

2. If he really takes on that part, I will book a plane ticket and fly to wherever he is on this planet to kick his skinny, Swedish behind. I have the odd feeling this might be one of those "foot in mouth"-statements that will come back to haunt me... :D

This isn't Michael's thread and I have zero interest in discussing him, but to be clear I did not say he was obnoxious because of that specific answer. Everyone has their own opinion, right?

As it happens, for some of the reasons mentioned a page or so back, I'm far from convinced that this film will happen and I've seen nothing to suggest that Alex is seriously considering it whatsoever, so I think Free's right that it's not worth discussing.

The repetitiveness of this opinion/someone disagrees/BUT IT'S MY OPINON cycle is rather tedious.

I don't think Skars is even slightly interested in doing a film that is a straight version of FSOG but it's (faintly) possible someone who does do interesting work will take it up and monkey with it and end up with a project that looks nothing like the book, as Charlie Kaufman did for "Adaptation" with 'The Orchid Thief," which was actually a great book but did not provide the structure for the film. So I can see where Skars' never say never attitude about it might come from. It would be years down the line before anything like that could happen because the author of FSOG would have to give up on the idea that the film rights to the book are worth an amount equal to the annual GDP of Luxembourg for that to work but I doubt anyone is going to pursue making the film any time in the near future anyway.

edited to add - I can't remember if someone else already mentioned the possibility of the film being completely different from the book a la Adapatation, apologies if I cribbed that from someone.

Further edited to add - I find it hard to imagine that anyone who is willing to top line a movie with Natalie Portman is all that concerned about quality control in their projects.

No tip Sherlock. I on the other hand, could discuss Michael Fassbender all day ;). Me thinks I'll have to find or start a Fassbender thread :thinkin:. Of course it's worth discussing Askars taking or not taking the role in "50 Shades of Crap" ....this is an Askar's Forum is it not? So all things Askars are worth discussing whether people agree or disagree.

And yes, for the record, it IS tedious, but that's what happens when people have different opinions and are passionate about what they believe to be true.

I'll be right there with you :boxing:.:giggles:

I agree with you...I have a feeling that if Askars does take on the role of "50 Shades of Manure", I may have to go incognito to the movie theatre to see it after bashing Askars for taking on the role :ninja::popcorn::ninja::sneaky: :giggles:

:giggles: Are we waving or drowning? I forget ;) And Mik :smooch: missed you :hugs:

And :welcome2: Afropunkchic

:dots:Can we all just call a truce for a short while

I think we may be doing a little of both :p :giggles:

I missed you too, my friend :smooch::hugs:

I'm as stubborn as they come, but yeah...I'm willing to call a truce...for now ;)...uh....I mean...yeah, I'll call a truce  Besides, I guess all of this tit for tat and back and forth does just bog the Forum down. But again, I think we are all passionate about what we believe in and want to be heard.

Why do you always make me laugh? :giggles: And yes, you will call a truce, or do I have to get my pointy stick thing out - again? :pokey: Yay I love 'pst' :pokey:

ETA: It's only a truce, not peace. I just think we all need to step back for a while

AfroPunkChic...don't worry...jump in. Most of us have been here for a while and will build a bridge and get over it. Disagreeing on one area doesn't mean we hate each other. Another subject will probably see us backing up a poster we just fought with.

It's like a passionate, rowdy, online, family debate at the dinner table. It's loud..with laughing, bad jokes...Sometimes there's a food fight, you want to strangle someone, there's kicking under the table and occasionally the Mods send someone to their room. But we all come back to the table again..the next night .

It's nothing one of my mojito's won't fix. Drink, anyone?

Okay, okay but remember, I told you that you could only use the pointy stick thingy if Joe or Askars were attached to it. Oops! That didn't come out right :shame:
