Hey D - You've been missed. How's your little one? ( I know, she's older than mine)

Much the same here...juggling work with kid wrangling and hospital visits for son#1 (5 times in 2 months so far and more to come). But other than that, pretty good, hanging in there.

So nice to see you on the forum again.

Note: Lots of speculation as to whether Season 6 will be the last season for True Blood. I'd bet money at this point that it will be. This season, at least from my perspective there was a lot of tying off of loose ends, getting rid of storylines (Hoyt) or just plain letting them hang unfinished (Jason and the V addicted athlete?) even Bill's storyline. I think we're moving to a completed series in 2013.

I could be wrong (much stranger things have happened). Just speculation... and then of course, Alex will be free to explore his options, untied to the relentless filming and promoting schedule of TB. I will mourn the series end though...:cry:

Free, I think you're right - because they have certainly not set Bill up for a long and happily ever after (HBO must be looking at those ratings longingly though). It could be a really strong good vs evil season if they do it right and they are really running out of things to do with the main characters unless they all become vamps. Alex would certainly benefit in one way from having more freedom to pursue better roles not tied to his shooting schedule. On the other hand, no matter what anyone says when they get free of a series, the uncertainy of acting jobs versus high visibility on a well-promoted show and a substantial paycheck? Hard to walk away. But he'll be fine in the end. It will be weird when it ends...

I think S6 is the last, have thought that way for a couple of years. The leads have all mentioned losing out on roles due to the schedule. I'm sure they've saved their money (hopefully not by putting behind a wall in Fangtasia) and should be ok.

Free, I've been keeping up with you somewhat on Tumblr and I hope things calm down for you soon. My little one is now in 3rd grade and growing up too fast!

GQ Style is a separate magazine that's released twice a year (at least in Germany). Normally it's very thick so you'll get a few pages of pictures.

Btw, I definitely think season 6 will be the last (hopefully). I mean I don't think they let Bill run around like this for another 3 seasons so at some point he'll be "gone" which means the Bill lunatics won't watch anymore which lets the ratings sink and ultimately the show will be finished. Alan Ball's shows never lasted longer than 6 seasons anyway. It's definitely better for the actors and if they really depend on the regular money coming in they can still switch to another show.

I just had this interesting discussion last week. About how the production companies adapt their covers (movie posters as well as DVD covers) depending in which country the movie is released and what kind of actors are involved. I saw those Battleship posters in Stockholm on the internet with him front and center looking like he's a leading character. Obviously they did that because he's from Sweden but the same happens for example with Stephen Moyer and True Blood promotion in the UK. They choose those actors as the biggest part on covers that are from the country or mostly known there. The person I had the conversation with said as an example that they completely removed the black couple from the movie posters of Couples Retreat in Europe. Of course people immediately screamed racism but it actually happened because they were the most unknown from all of them. So there's no point in them promoting the movie in Europe if no one knows them or cares about them.
Same with the movie Control. Alexandra Maria Lara, a German actress, is in there so of course she was front and center all the time when it came to promotion in Germany even though she's just a supporting character, and naturally they tried to press her on her relationship with Sam Riley. For us Germans she was the most known person in this movie besides Sam Riley.
I find this part very interesting on how they try to influence/manipulate people into watching certain movies. But it also works the other way around, the negative way. So if you don't like certain actors but they put them on everything related to the movie you won't go watch it. Like, I'd never watch movies with Tom Cruise or Gwyneth Paltrow in the theater but they're such big names they do all the worldwide press for their movies. Hence there's a good and bad side to this kind of marketing strategy.

o/t but does anyone know how scenic the train trip from Stockholm to Copenhagen is? Does one get to see scenic bits of the countryside or is it just a rail corridor? The flight time is quite a bit shorter but I think with the travel to and from the airports and security and all that it might be a hassle and if the train trip is scenic it might be preferable. I note that Skars and Fares Fares went to Copenhagen to hang out with hippies last year (this year?) so not totally off topic.
