The actor is filming scenes for thriller Hidden, which focuses on a family who take refuge in a fallout shelter as they try to avoid a dangerous outbreak.

True Blood heart-throb Alexander looked a shadow of his former self as he strolled around on location in Vancouver.

The Swedish star - who most recently appeared in video game adaptation Battleship and the remake of 1971 flick Straw Dogs - was dressed in scruffy brown chinos and a grey T-shirt which showed off his new slimline look.

It was a far cry from his usual buffed appearance as Eric Northman in HBO vampire series True Blood.

Alexander - who turned 36 on Saturday - got an extra special birthday treat this weekend when his new brother was born.

The hunk's dad and fellow actor Stellan Skarsgard saw his eigth child come into the world on Friday.

Love that photo Santress, he looks fantastic. As for hubs and his GQ, it hasn't shown up which is weird as it usually gets here a day or so before it gets to the newsagents. He's getting a copy for me today, but that will be about 8hrs before I can scan them, and they'll probably have hit the Net before then, but I'll scan them anyway.

thanks Santress! Gee, his chest looks awfully...furry. Not that he's hairless (and hey, who am I to gripe about a little fur? ) but maybe it's the lighting.

I'm finding that bit of chest hair extraordinarily sexy. If that's an indication of the shoot, I can't wait.

Edit: Geez those photos from Hidden. He looks....mangy...in need of a good feed. Which I guess is the point. Still, all that weight loss doesn't look great on him, though I've got to commend his dedication to the role. I bet he's looking forward to a lot of comfort food and some weight sessions at the gym once they finish filming.

It's the rest of of who have to scrounge around on EBay! I've spent more money on magazines because of him than I ever though I'd accept as 'normal.'

Does anybody know whereabouts they're filming in Vancouver? I live here myself but I don't have the first clue. I haven't been home all summer. I was so excited to hear he was here... I was so upset I wasn't able to make Comic-Con & then I heard that shortly after that, he'd be coming to me. Filming ends in a couple of weeks, or mid September I think. My hopes aren't high considering he's already spent a great deal of time downtown etc but you know, it doesn't hurt.

I prefer the chest hair over the bare chest! He's blonde so there's not that much, lol!

It's hard to tell if he's actually lost weight. Get some baggy pants , cinch them with a belt and he could look skinnier without actually losing a lot of weight. We've also seen him lose mass quickly when he stops working out. At least the wardrobe budget for this movie should be low. SalArmy?

GQ Style is a separate magazine that's released twice a year (at least in Germany). Normally it's very thick so you'll get a few pages of pictures.

Btw, I definitely think season 6 will be the last (hopefully). I mean I don't think they let Bill run around like this for another 3 seasons so at some point he'll be "gone" which means the Bill lunatics won't watch anymore which lets the ratings sink and ultimately the show will be finished. Alan Ball's shows never lasted longer than 6 seasons anyway. It's definitely better for the actors and if they really depend on the regular money coming in they can still switch to another show.

i agree i dont think his lost too much weight, i think he just stopped going to the gym. the baggy clothes create an illusion that his is skinner than he is.

GQ will be available on monday and people with subscriptions (Free) get them earlier so we should get scans soon.

I disagree. I think he's lost weight (and a lot of it) for sure. It was noticeable in the first pics we got from Canada. It's most noticeable to me in his face. That wonderful Scandinavian bone structure is very revealing. He looks haggard to me, and its not just the clothes. The side view of his jaw sealed it for me. He's always been lean and fit, ...this is HiddenSkars/SkinnySkars/HungryJawSkars in my opinion.

He's lost weight, but I suspect some of the facial appearance is actually makeup, I don't really see his jaw as be more angular than it was, say at last year's ComicCon, when he was pretty furry.

Of course, to confirm my belief, I'm going to have spend the next several hours 'researching' photos.

Can I just add how glad I am GQ Australia got to do a shoot with him? Because of our climate and we are just coming into spring/summer etc....the shoots here are different to the Euro ones. That is, we don't go for the typical, cool, Euro looks but rather sweaty man-beasts, outdoorsy etc - GQ Australia gets sold to a lot of women here as well. The other shoots they've done for Alex O'Loughlin, Ryan Kwanten and Chris Hemsworth have been pretty hot as well. Well worth checking out if you're in need of a perve

On that note, if hubs subscription doesn't get here by tomorrow (Friday in Oz) I'm going to scream blue murder because I'm certain this shoot is going to be an extravaganza of hot.

Sometimes this thread fair whizzes along - and there is so much to agree and disagree with, but I think the main problem with Alex's appearance is that he is so pale - his next role better specify, at the very least, 'sun kissed' Poor dude must be sick of hiding in the shade.

Looks like SalArmy, or Goodwill, but probably more expensive, much more than they should be.

I do like the boots he's wearing, though at the side angles it looks like they have grass growing around his ankles.
