A lot of people seem to want to post both gifs and pics, in which case its probably better if we go through Photobucket as you can only upload gifs to Imageshack if you have a premium account.
Uploading gifs/photos in Photobucket
* There is a green icon called
UPLOAD. Hit this button.
* It will take you to a new screen where you need to choose the source of your upload (ie your computer, a URL etc)
* The screen will show the following options:
My computer: Facebook: More
* To upload a URL, choose More, this will bring up a drop down list, choose
"The Web".
* Next you'll see windows where you can paste the URL. You can upload multiples at once here as well.
* Paste your URL then hit
"Start Uploading".
Once its done, go to your
Album.
Hover over the picture you want. At the bottom of the image a table will appear. For our forum at tPF, you will need the
"Direct Link".
Click on this (not right click). It will then show "copied". This means its copied to
your clipboard.
Come back to tPF. Using the icon that looks like a yellow square with a mountain (if you click on it, it says "Insert Image"). A popup will show asking for your URL. Hit paste. This will paste the direct link to your image.
When you post the message, your gifs/image will show. You can always preview to make sure.
YouTube:
* You need to be in the
Advanced post section to do this.
* Most YouTube videos have a URL that looks like this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lXX_15TOli0
* The only part of the URL you need to post here is the part in red.
* Highlight it, then hit the YouTube icon. This will embed your video.
It sounds complicated at first, but its really not and once you get going its quite easy.
