Adele is only a few years younger than me but she seems so much older than me... it's not that she looks old but she's never looked really young. She looks like Kate Winslet who looks like she's been in her thirties for the last few decades.

I agree. She's always seemed older than her age to me (and not in a bad way). Maybe partly due to her size and partly her voice. Don't know why but I love her.

She didn't break it, it broke in half while she was accepting it. Regardless, it's hers to do with what she wants. The Album of the Year award winner is generally always puzzing considering the nominees.

But if Adele being generous and sharing turns you off from her now, what is it that you really liked about her?
I think she was being nice and generous but more than necessary. Seems she is a genuine fan of Beyonce. But IMO Adele is more talented.

not sure if you're joking....think this was put to rest as a rumor
I'm thinking there is always truth to some rumors, I mean, after Adele saying she refused to do superbowl because it wasn't her thing-she doesn't dance and jar on stage , I wouldn't put it past her to refuse a duet with Beyonce, her music is different than Bey's. They are totally different genre, I'm not sure what Adele could gain from doing anything with Beyonce, she is well recognize in the music industry, if the rumors were true, they would still be downplayed to save both of their faces and not annoy the beehive fans.

I think so too...it just seems she is a genuine fan and understood Beyonce's intentions behind Lemonade. I didn't realize her being nice would possibly be seen as off putting. I haven't seen Beyonce live since her first album but she's very talented and I will give her that credit. I like Adele, she's talented as well and she also deserves that credit. They're two different artist.

I don't follow the Grammys because they've never been broadcast where I live but they seem like most other award shows. There's always much debate as to who the "right" person is but once the bubble passes no-one can remember, nor do they really give a sh*t, who won what in what year... aside from the person who wins I suppose. That's not to say the nominees aren't deserving (they almost always are) or that certain groups aren't overlooked or that there's bias etc. (there obviously is) but there's a kind of irrelevant relevance to these things... and really there's no greater validation to a singer, actor, film maker etc. than longevity.

Yup... both talented in different way.

I've always felt Beyonce isn't the best singer but she's one of the best old round performers, few can beat her currently in terms of iconography and presentation.

I love Adele, she seems like an awesome person but sometimes I want to shake her... get your sh*t together Adele.

I wish Beyonce would sing straight without all the runs more often because she really does have a great voice. You're not alone in the opinion that you feel she isn't the best singer...while I don't think she's Whitney, I wouldn't say that Adele is far superior than Beyonce in terms of singing voices; unfortunately, she does all of those runs which are awful and takes away from her voice.

I thought Beyonce did a pretty good job with the Etta James song At Last. But I guess that's not the kind of music her fan base prefers. IMO Adele's voice is more unique.

I'm neither a big Beyonce nor Adele fan. I listen to their albums for a month or two after they comes out but it's rare that their songs really stick with me longer than that so the following opinion is based on a fairly superficial reading of them.

When I say she isn't the best singer I'm measuring her against people like Alicia Keyes, she's still an incredible singer. It's just that the Beyonce hype machine sets expectations really high.. because she's mother f**king telling you and showing you how mother f**king awesome she is. That and I can recall a handful of times Beyonce has been outshone by less polished, less flashy, less elaborate performers. It's not always about technical prowess.

Beyonce works really really hard at being Beyonce with a capital B, she's going to be the superwoman perfectionist who reaches every summit she locks her sights on... and top marks for that because she's very, very good at it but when I think of her I think of her presentation before her singing... not sure if that's a good thing.... I think it can get in the way of connecting to her music. Adele on the other hand is more all over the place, more human and on that level can be easier to connect to.

Beyonce could probably do with a little of Adele's messiness and Adele could probably do with some of the Beyonce with a capital B ambition. If this year was her second Grammy's flub and she made other high profile flubs than it's time she pulled herself together. People turn on the "look how real I'm being" thing really quickly.

Ah, reminds me of the old days when Streisand did a duet with Donna Summer. But those two chicks were WAY more talented than these two can ever dream of being.

Beyonce is dance/uptempo and Adele is ballads/slow...which is why comparing them is silly IMO. They each have their own lane and that's okay....and like most artists, their better songs are the ones not released to the masses but quietly on the albums.

I like Adele but I do not connect with her music even though I have all her albums....she has a beautiful voice and is a good talent. I like Beyonce but I do not connect with her music as much as her stans. However, of the two, I'd rather hear Beyonce so I can dance vs Adele and another sad/slow love/breakup song.
