I like Adele - but (and I'm not talking about the flub at the beginning) that tribute to George Michael wasn't good. It in no way embraced his spirit or that of his music. He had a brilliant soul voice and could bring the funk.

I would really have loved to see someone do Freedom 90 or Waiting for That Day.

Adele is only a few years younger than me but she seems so much older than me... it's not that she looks old but she's never looked really young. She looks like Kate Winslet who looks like she's been in her thirties for the last few decades.

She broke her award to "share" with Beyonce ? First of all..that is really disrespectful. Despite what she may say.... shouldn't have broken it.... and given the broken pieces to someone that you so-called "respect and deserves it better..."
It's disrespectful to the (1) Grammys... like... oh I don't really care about this...you shd have given it to someone else... and it's disrespectful to (2) Beyonce. Like oh.....you can have it. No.... you can have HALF of it. Because you don't deserve the entire statue. It's mine and I have the right to break it.
And everyone had to look so pleased and cheer and say what a wonderful person Adele is....in front of TV. I'm sure people are saying otherwise off-air.
I used to like Adele...after this episode...hmm....

She didn't break it, it broke in half while she was accepting it. Regardless, it's hers to do with what she wants. The Album of the Year award winner is generally always puzzing considering the nominees.

But if Adele being generous and sharing turns you off from her now, what is it that you really liked about her?

It's like... imagine you were still a little girl...your younger sister loves the doll that you got and your mum tells you to be generous and share....you broke off the head and gave it to her. Are you REALLY feeling generous when u gave the head to your sister?

My contention is that she gave this beautiful speech about Beyonce and how she should get the award instead.... then gave her half of the statue.... hmm...not very gracious imo.

Until she comes out and explain why she broke it.... be it an accident or intentionally to give to Beyonce... otherwise we can only speculate... in the name of entertainment.
I sure hope that it was an accident.

Someone posted the clarification already...she didn't give Beyonce anything, it just broke in two.

No one told Adele to share or be generous...your analogy of being told to share a doll doesn't make sense. In any event, she still has the award. Even if she shared it, I can't understand why someone you like exhibiting a positive character trait becomes a turn off but carry on.

I wanted to explain why I disagree she's being " generous and sharing" because you mentioned she's being that. Anyways.... I'm just voicing my opinion cos I came across an article saying she broke it for Beyonce. Whether that's true or not....Adele will have to clarify it herself.
And I'm not here to fight for her or against her. I'm just here for entertainment. Peace.
