Read the care instructions for the tote

An SA confirmed that the totes are coated canvas.

Well mystery solved! i actually like coated canvas, that said i've only ever own wallets & wristlets in it, not actual bags. I would think it would be very wipe able and good for daily use, but i would expect some corner wear.

IME with SLG's they do go a few years but will eventually suffer come cracking at common wear/bend spots and the corner wear showing pattern and color loss.

Ok, thanks…do you know if the Bennett satchels are also coated canvas? The texture looks the same as the totes in the photos. I ordered one and I definitely don't want it if it's canvas.

 Even the information in the system that I saw when I visited the outlet before these came out said they were calf leather, because I'd specifically asked about that and the SA was letting me view the screen.

That's a big "error". They also never seem to bother to correct these types of errors so I think that misleading the customer (never mind their own staff!) is the new Coach sales strategy. I'm really angry. If the Bennetts are canvas too I'm not even considering one.

Yes, there is a large difference between canvas, cross grain, calf leather etc. I don't understand why they are mislabeling some of these items-surely it's not legal? I can't believe they'd be doing it on purpose.

This is a big error, no wonder no SA at Coach seems to be unknowable about their product, it's not their fault because Coach itself doesn't seem to know

When I made my purchase I could only go by what the website had on it, I didn't look carefully at the leather like some of you did coming to the conclusion it was cross grain, I thought I was getting a leather purse.

now is the question is coated canvas better than cross grain and would you pay $175 for coated canvas?

Coach uses copy & paste a wee bit too often. It is not right, for those unable to access the item irl, you are being misled and then must deal with the hassle of returns.

I personally like Coated canvas better than cross grain, i found my cross grain tote(not Peanuts but Coach, taxi tote) was prone to "picks" whereas my CC wallets and other SLG were not...

That said CC will eventually crack in wear corners and does have fade for colored varieties... i used a colored/patterned Waverly medium wallet for years and that was the end result of it's demise.

My current Waverly large accordion zip around wallet is doing okay after a years worth of use(i only use 1 wallet for a duration) the other SLG have not been used heavily enough to comment properly.

I'm just gonna say it.. while i adore Peanuts and would thoroughly enjoy more pieces i want to make sure there is more to the product than simply snoopy on the front it, does that make sense?

For $175 I want the strength and durability of leather. For coated canvas, I would be OK paying (a still pricey) $99 because it's Snoopy. I feel ripped off, cheated and scammed if this truly is a coated canvas bag that was advertised as leather.

If this were an eBay situation, buyers would be filing SNADs in a heartbeat.

That will probably happen with the eBay transactions. I noticed some listings indicating the bag was calf leather...

My items have already arrived locally, but say delivery Tuesday. Wonder if they will get pushed up to Monday. I have another package scheduled on Monday, so it appears UPS is delivering on the holiday.

Are we absolutely sure its coated canvas? The card that came in the packaging as well as the SA could be wrong.

I'm not sure if it's cross-grain or coated canvas but the tote is not calf leather. If they had advertised it as what it really is, I wouldn't have paid $175. The tote is going back but I'm keeping the cosmetic case and bag charms.

I sent Coach an email letting them know how unhappy I was with the false description. No matter what it made out of, it's not what it says it is.

I will more than likely return mine also, it's cute but that cuteness isn't winning me over as it did on Friday when I opened it.

Yes, same here. I agree it's cute but the false advertisement is not cool. I would think about that each time I used the tote if I kept it.

I agree, we should have had all the details upfront. Im thinking its crossgrain or calf that was processed in a manner that we may not yet be familiar with OR they may have copied and pasted the description from the bags that are actually made of calf across the board. Just judgding from the pics, the totes remind me of the non-Snoopy taxi totes that were made of crossgrain leather.
